I think I'm going to have to buy some anti colic bottles. My instinct is to get avent ones as I have avent everything else but want to buy the best ones so do you have experience with either Avent or Dr Brown's anti colic bottles and which do you recommend? x

I started off with avent anti colic as I had all advent steraliser, dummies etc. She was a nightmare to wind and around 1 week I thought she was showing signs of colic, crying for hours in the evening.

My bros little girl had colic and he recommended the dr browns so I went out an bought them. Been using them since around 1 week old and no colic. Not sure if its down to the bottles or not but id like to think so :)

I also prefer the shape of the dr browns., feel better to hold when feeding.
People say they are a nightmare to clean due to all the parts, there's only 2 extra parts. If U have the avent 3in1 steraoiser like I do, I normally fit in around 4 full bottles plus a few dummies.

Only thing is ur not supposed to shake the dr brown, so if ur using them for formula Ur best to buy some kids spoons to stir :) xx

Oh I didn't know you aren't supposed to shake them. That's annoying but better than a baby that takes hours to bring up wind and then still doesn't bring it all up! Think I may have to invest in some of these bottles this evening. I've had one grumpy little boy these past few days so am willing to give pretty much anything a go! x

I use the Dr. Browns and there great, although I've never tried Avent. I didn't know your not supposed to shake the Dr. Browns though?? Dr. Browns gives you a little cleaning tool in each pack of bottles to clean the extra two parts.

Yeah im sure it says not to shake on the instructions? O tried to shake it once in pure lazieness and it spilled everywhere! Lol I think its I case the tube gets clogged? Not really sure tho xx

I started with Avent ones, and changed to dr Brown's as LO was very uncomfortable with wind. Made a world of difference! Go for them and just skip the Avent ones, they are much better! (though I do fnd them a faff to wash!)

i use dr browns and find them great lo has never had any problems and bring up wind quite easily, dr browns are ok to shake once its from side to side rather than up and down, my frind used a little battery operated whisk with hers

dr browns beat all other bottles hands down, i went through tommee tippie and avent before trying dr browns and i can't recommend them enough, yeah theres a bit more cleaning involved but if it helps LO then it doesn't matter!
