I have my dress fitting this afternoon and I'm really excited but also a bit worried - I'm 18 weeks pregnant (will be 21 weeks on the day of my wedding) and worried that they'll do the alterations then my bump will grow and it won't fit on my wedding day!
Also I'm worried about how the seamstress will react to seeing my almost 5 month pregnant bump - paranoid I know, but the reason I've kept my wedding to only 50 close friends and family is I'm worried about what people think :shy: At least I'm not wearing white though :winkwink:

oh honey, don't worry what people think! be proud of your lovely baby bump (which i'm sure you are :cloud9:) and if the dress maker says anything you give her an ear full of how wonderful things are!!
you should tell her about me, i'm getting married in white with my daughter as bridesmaid, and i might even have a little bean growing away too ;)
enjoy your day :hugs: xxx

Totally agree with PB, enjoy your bump and don't think about what other people think.

I am getting married with my nearly 4 year old as flowergirl and nearly 2 year old as page boy! People can say what they want I dont care as long as we're happy xx

Thanks girls :hugs: I know you're both right, just panicking coz it's all "real" now!
D'you know the wedding was originally booked for December and I was less bothered about having a 6 month old baby than I am about my bump, I can't even explain why! I think it's coz when we first told people about the baby a lot of them assumed we wouldn't be getting married anymore and we've done the exact opposite to what they expected by bringing the wedding forward! Also there's no hiding the evidence :haha:
I think both of your days will be "more special" for having your LO's involved. My brother and SiL got married in October and had their 18 month old twins as page boys. EVERYONE commented on how much the kids added to the day and how special/nice it was, my brother mentioned the twins ( "our pride and joy") in his speech and there wasn't a dry eye in the house, your LO's will look gorgeous in their little outfits!

thank you vickie :hugs: such a lovely kind words. i do understand, when we first got pregnant with maddi my OH's family said, are you going to get married on the quick! our wedding should be perfect for us, about us, our partners and our LO's (in womb or out :D) you concentrate on that sweetie, and enjoy trying on your dress :hugs: xxx

I was in same situation. My weddings were on 2nd Jan and by that time I was 20weeks and 2days. In dress fittings we discussed how fast my bump would grow but for my luck it didn't grow. That meant I could wear my dress which was made for my pre-pregnancy measurements.
We didn't tell anybody about my pregnancy before the weddings because I didn't want everybody to know or to look at me like a pregnant bride. And I wore white dress.
Anyhow, on your wedding day eat breakfest although you don't want to eat and good luck for you:thumbup:

I know it isn't much help to the OP, but if anyone knows they are pregnant before ordering their dress, I can recommend 'Bjorn and Me' maternity wedding dresses. It's run by a midwife from a shed in her garden, available on a short lead time (or from stock like mine), and they fit beautifully with any size of bump. For my wedding at 32 weeks pregnant, and arranged in 4 weeks, it was a godsend.

Thanks for asking, it was fine. They didn't bat an eyelid and coz my dress is a lace up back there's still loads of room for growth :) It's costing £120 though!! Coz they have to undo and then redo the detailing because of the boning - they can't just take it in at the sides or the boning isn't where it should be. She's not taking it up til the week of the wedding either as she says when my bump grows it'll "lift" it at the front. I'm not worried about it at all now though :)

oh sweetheart thats wonderful! i too have a lace up back and i'm so pleased! enjoy your last fittings honey, can't wait for pictures of your special day :cloud9: xx

That's so great that everything went well and you don't have to worry anymore :winkwink:
