Early Learning Centre - removing a pig?!

i answered this in gs too so thought id copy and past my reply coz im lazy lol

this sort of thing really annoys me. the powers that be seem to be all to quick to ban anything that could be seen as racist or anything that goes against certain religions for fear of offending people.

but it seems that if you are white or christian then it doesnt matter if you are offended!
i mean, in my sons school they have stopped singing baa baa black sheep because it could be seen as racist and they now have to sing baa baa white sheep....is that not just as racist??

Not so long ago on the news there was a story about the government wanting to change the name of christmas to winterval to stop other cultures from getting offended, well im sorry but christmas is a christian holiday(after all, its celebrating the birth of christ) and if we are being totally politically correct then if you arent christian then you shouldnt celebrate it so it shouldnt bother you.

i dont see the government sugesting changing the name of ramadan or anything like that...of course not...that would be racist!
it really is getting ridiculous in this country, i dont know what they will think of next!

never heard anything so silly. But cos of all the complaints the pigs been added to the toy again.

Yet when they initially took the pig away, they didnt remove the snorting oinking noise from the memory programme, just the character! how was the sound of a pig ok then and the little cute character not?

and how come they left the cow? and the dog?

whoever decided to 'assume' it woyuld offend ppl should be sacked.

If an offended (muslim or any other religion) mother saw this.. would she actually buy it just to complain?? I ask you? ERRR NOPE!
