I found out that all my +ve tests were because I have an ectopic pregnancy. They cant operate until sat so its going to be a long wait...........

its very unfortunate that you have to go through this! I had emergency ectopic surgery in Janurary and understand how scary it is. Im sure things will go ok and i hope that you have a quick recovery. They didnt have to remove my tube (left one) and i was almost 8 weeks so good chance you will keep your tube especially that they caught it early. I will be thinking of you.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this hon. I also lost a pregnany due to ectopic in October of 2008. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair, does it? it is terrible that you have to wait, with mine i was treated with methotrexate so no need for surgery.

I can totally sympathise with you , i had my right tube removed in january..

I was wondering about methotrexate, I wanted to try to avoid this as they said it stays in your system for up to 6 mths. I am not too sure what to do. It was offered but initially I have ruled it out.

Im a perfect example of this mazza!!

I had surgery On the 20th Jan 09 right tube removed and on the 23rd Feb just 5 weeks later

To say i was shocked was an understatement!

I didnt give up hope Mazza, i knew it could take months to conceive again hence my decison to TTC straight away, but to get a BFP that quick was amazing, and i now know lots of other women who have done the exact same, infact the lady at the EPU said she gets women in 6 weeks after EP healthily pregnant with a viable baby!

It is best to wait TTC for a few months really however, it was my descion not to wait, and 'if' anything goes wrong then its my fault. (touch wood)

I have my scan booked for Friday 13th i'll be 6 weeks so i'll know then if its another EP or a uterine pregnancy (fingers crossed)

Mazza, I understand your decision to go with surgery rather than metho... I wouldn't want to wait 6 months to TTC again. I believe that surgery can be done without losing a tube as well, so I'll be hoping that is the case for you too!

I have a good feeling about you lou, I think everything will be ok!

I decided to wait the 3 months after EP to TTC largely based because I had major abdominal surgery due to internal bleeding caused the rupture of my right tube. Mine was a freak case-- I guess ruptures usually dont happen so early in the pregnancy. In all honestly I didn't really feel much for BD until around the time we could start TTC anyway.

Mazza, I'll keep you close in my thoughts and prayers in the upcoming weeks and just let me know if you need anything.
