I had an operation yesterday to remove my ectopic pregnancy and my left fallopian tube. How long should I expect to bleed afterwards? Also, how long before tummy stops being sore?

I am at home now, so just need any pointers as to how to recover best from this.

Thank you. x

Im not sure, but take care  xx

Now i havent had an ectopic (although 2 mc and 2 ercp/d&c's) but i do understand its a bit more invasive than what i have gone through. having said that, the actual healing process is a very individual thing and unless you start feeling anything untoward (you will know it if you saw/felt it) you should be fine in time. But, again...it all depends on your own body's healing process. Worst case scenario is 4-6 weeks but you could be lucky and feel almost back to normal way before that.

Main thing is to get some tlc, listen to your body, follow doctors orders and only do what you feel like (this is an excellent opportunity to get out of stuff you dont feel like doing...but i digress, lol)

tale care and follow your instincs...if you start to worry then a swift call to epau to get your fears abated is always an excellent idea!

You will get better soon, hun!

All the best, Omi xxx

Sorry to hear you've had an ectopic and I hope you are doing ok.

I had a suspeced ectopic/miscarraige a few months ago and I found a great website and forum with trained medical professionals which will answer all your questions, i'll PM you the details as I don't think I can post other website info!?

I found this for you...
How long should I expect to bleed after (ectopic) surgery?

Women’s responses vary greatly after surgery. You might bleed for a few days or continue to spot and bleed for up to 6 weeks. So long as you aren't soaking a pad in less than an hour and the bleeding gradually tails off, it is considered broadly normal. However, if you have concerns you should consult your doctor, health care provider or NHS Direct.

sorry for your loss, i had an ectopic pregnancy recently, because i had no pain i was able to have a methotrexate injection to dissolve the pregnancy, so not sure about your question, but didn't want to read and run
