To those of you that have babies with Eczema, a few questions for you..
Do you have a family history of eczema or other allergies?
Have you used steroid treatments prescribed by a pediatrician?
What over the counter lotions/creams/ointments work for you?
When are flare ups the worst for your baby?
How often do you bathe your baby and what soap do you use?
DD was just "officially" diagnosed with Eczema yesterday. Neither myself or my husband have any allergies/ eczema problems. My inlaws both have allergies/intolerances, could she have inherited this from them? Also the doctor recommended I cut dairy from my diet as I breastfeed her to see if it helps.. The National Excema Association's website states this "While many parents assume that a particular food is the cause of their childs eczema, the answer is rarely that simple. Most eczema is unrelated to diet. In fact, parents who remove food from their childs diet in an effort to clear up the skin can be causing more harm than good. If your childs eczema greatly improves with gentle skin care and topical medications as described above, it is unlikely that there is a hidden food allergy in play." What are your thought on the issue? Thanks in advance.
