Egg share

Hello,
I have not been through the actual process yet but we are in the early stages. I am just waiting for my AMH blood test to come back and all being ok, then we are going to start immediately. Should have the results this week.
We have to have one mandatory counselling session (and can choose to have more if we want)
With the eggs, if there is an equal number they give you half and the receipiant half - you wont necessarily get the better eggs as they do just divide the number straight in half . If there is an odd number you get the higher amount. And the clinic I am in, if you have anything less than 8 eggs - you get them all.
The main thing they have tried to drill into us is that you can now be contacted when any children born from your egg reach 18. The parents are advised to tell the children they are from a donor egg as soon as possible to normalize it into their lives.
Hopefully when we start I will be able to give you more of an insight - but I hope this has helped.

Thank you for your reply Mrs Brooks, Yes we are looking into it at the moment. We have just found out our PCT are no longer funding IVF so we have to look at other options and I am not ready to give up without at least having one round but with the costs being so high we are looking into egg share.

That's one of the reason we decided to go down this path. We are going to Manchester Fertility Services and so far they have been brilliant

Thank you, I will be keeping a close eye on your progress. I had been looking at care manchester but they add another £995 on the cost for icsi
will have a look at mfs, I drove past there on my way to st marys. What kind of tests ect do you need before they accept you? will have to call them for an info pack. Thank you again x
