I was doing some reading up on a fertility clinic near where i stay and they offer free ivf if you do egg sharing and ob pass certain tests, i was talking to my partner about this and he is in abit of two minds about it because their would be kids out their that would be mine , i tried to tell him they wouldnt really be mine as they would have a mother and father it would only be by dna , this would help us get the baby we want so bad but dont know all the ins and outs of this we have an appointment with the hospital next month but im trying to look at other options x

I'm considering egg sharing. We've been through 3 unsuccessful IVF cycles - only one of which was NHS funded. As we are having other tests done and may be opting for egg screening to be done before embryo transfer, we haven't really got any other option but to egg share.

Although we are considering egg sharing because we have to from a financial point of view, it is something that I have recently been thinking about. I think that it is a wonderful gift to give to a woman who is in desperate need - and who knows, it is possible that I may need to be the recipient rather than the donor - and should that be the case, I know that I would be eternally grateful.

Good luck with your upcoming appointment - I hope your journey doesn't take too much longer.

xx

PS - just noticed your sig - are you going to ask for tests to try to establish the reasons for your MCs?

i wouldn't consider egg sharing i'm like your OH i 'd feel like the was a part of me out there some where and i'd be totally gutted if ivf didn't work for me and someone else was walking around with my egg half my baby its a tuff call but i'd like to point out i fell preg with 3boys within 6 weeks everytime and it took 6 month with this one and it felt like forever i'm not i a good enough position to know the yerning of waiting years with no joy so i can't really know the pain of waiting i've never mc'd so i cant imagen what you feel :hugs: in whatever decision you make my heart is with you

thank you girls for your replys , yeah im getting tested for that but i think its coming down to that i have problems with my blood clotting and have long irregular cycles worse now that i have had a d&c xx

i donated eggs to my sister and she has 3 kids . I now am having ivf and only got 1 egg!!
i never look at them as my kids even now.
i have a strong bond with them but thats coz they are my sisters kids and my only niece and nephew.
However you will never know how you feel until the time comes and you should go with your gut feeling.

My oh's twins were egg share. His sperm and donated eggs. I do understand the dilemma and was going to go down this road myself if I needed IVF ( I got pregnant 12 weeks before the initial consultation.

I thinks its a wonderful gift to give someone, but I accept its not for everyone. Good luck with your decision. XX

I think what is important, and probably what they check for when you go to counselling is that you are agreeing to it because you are totally ok with egg sharing and its implication rather than accepting it because it allows you a free go at IVF. You do have the consider the possibility that another woman gives birth to a baby created out of your eggs but that yours isn't successful.

On that basis, I don't think I could have done it. However, if I had no fertility problems at all and had had all the children I'd wanted, than maybe I might have done, except that of course, you then have to be incredibly giving to go through what you have to to make such a gift.

Muncho I think what you have done for your sister is incredible and beautiful. I soooooo wish for your bfp next week.
