Elective Section, will baby stay with me?

(Posted in 3rd tri too).

I've had two previous 3rd degree tears, so this time around I've opted for a C-Section.

When I had my other two because of the tears I was taken to theatre to be stitched up, and was away from my babies for approx 3 hours. By the time I saw them again they looked completely different to what i remembered. (Sounds silly I know, but they change so much in the first few hours).

So I was hoping having a planned Section that baby will stay with me the whole time, while being stitched and also in recovery.

Any ladies with experience, please share your stories. Thanks

I had a c section with my DD and she never left my side once, there is no reason it would be different for you, good luck

I had emergency and she never left my side.

Same with me, he was put high up on my chest as they sewed me up.

Same here, he was weighed and then they tucked him in right on my chest (i had a reaction to the meds and was very shaky and was scared to hold him)

i had an elective and my baby was with me, and we had skin to skin.

My baby stayed in theatre with me. When he was taken to the cot to be checked over, DH went with him and then DH held him next to me until they were finished and he went in skin to skin x
