electronic cigarettes

I'm sitting here puffing on mine.... I love it, I'm using it to quit. Beginning of January I was on 15-20 real cigarettes a day. I'm now on two or three. The place I buy my refills from sell high strength, all the way down to zero nicotine, I started on the high strength and I'm now on the lesser strength ones, I plan to buy the zero nicotine version by the middle of February. So in effect I won't be smoking at all when I'm puffing on the electronic fag.

I struggling to quit real ones altogether, but I've cut down ALOT! Any tips for cutting out my first thing in the morning one, and my late evening one? It's more habit than anything else but I don't feel myself in the morning til I've had my cigarette...

I quit using an electronic cigarette it really helped me.

It was given to me by a friend and as I had no clue what they were.

The other day I was watching TV (UK) and saw an advert for E-Lites....I must admit I was very shocked and I did actually say to myself that I thought advertising smoking was illegal.

I don't think it should be on TV personally.

I sell them in my convinced stores I sell the ones that let of the water vapour that you add the liquid to. There really really popular we've only stocked them for a month and lots if people are buying them. I see no harm as there alot better than cigs. I saw a lady doing her shopping smoking one.

My oh has an e-cigarette, I'd much rather him have that than still be smoking real cigarettes. He's now on the low dosage cartridges and I'm hoping he will eventually move onto the zero nicotine cartridges and then eventually stop using it altogether.

The only thing that annoys me is that he's always got the bloody thing in his hand and leaves his used cartridges everywhere. I'm trying to get him to stop using it in front of LO before she's old enough to notice and copy (as in mimic the action), not to mention the cartridges left lying around are a choking risk especially when she's mobile and can pick things up. But apart from that I think they're much better than real cigarettes, my granddad also uses one and doesn't touch real cigarettes at all anymore. My mum has one too but I don't think she uses it that much (much to my annoyance lol).

I do think they can help someone stop altogether if they have the self control or they have someone there to help them gradually wean off it. If I didn't encourage/nag my oh to start buying the next lowest dose cartridges every once in a while he'd still be on the high strength ones.

I think they're brilliant (the ones with the flavoured liquids), you still get nicotine & sure that's not exactly good for you but they don't have any of the actual chemicals that cause the majority of the health problems these days.
I think the whole idea of being able to choose different coloured casings & cartridges, cases to carry it in & so many flavours (plus no more going outside in the freezing cold for a cheeky cig :haha:).
Brilliant invention IMO :)

My mum used one to quit after 30 yeqars of smoking and has been free for nearly a year now, even my nan gave up with one after over 50 years of smoking (trust me if you knew my nan no one even thought she would ever give up for anything)

I see no harm in them being advertised, they arnt actualu advertising smoking as such but rather a alternative or quitting aid same as nicotine patches or gum, they have age limets on them same as patches and such so if kids are buying them off the interent then you need to question how they are getting them and why arnt the parents stopping them.
If they look in the right place kids can buy cigerettes, alcohol, knives, drugs, guns ,explosives, porn they can even buy a Polish bride or a hitman if they so choose so I think e cigerettes are the least of parents concerns if they dont keep an eye on thier kids that would go looking for this kind of stuff (they know more about the internet then most of us)

This really did make me laugh. I just had visions of my four year old trying to setup a hit whilst a Polish bride is hanging off his arm. Will definitely be more careful in future, he will have all the sweets he wants....just in case.

It's true though Smokey, the amount of stuff Kids could buy on the Internet is unreal. E-cigs would be the last of my concerns.
