elevated AFP anyone???
Well I have done the triple screen IPS test, my down's risk came back 1 in 10,000! Which is amazing considering I am 46! However, my AFP came back at 3.2 MOM and the upper expected limit is 2.3 MOM.
I was told all trisomy risks were very low, but don't have the full report yet.
From the 12 week scan, BPD was 19.1mm; CRL was 62.7mm, NT was 1.0 mm, and HR was 157. Everything was anatomically correct for 12 weeks, and my dates were dead on to the day.
I have read that certain pre-existing conditions can skew (increase) AFP, of which I have:
1. Race [I'm black american]
2. tumor [I have fibroids]
3. liver issues [i have had hepatitis and liver damage from medication]
4. I had bleeding at 6 weeks, which gradually stopped
5. I am advanced maternal age [46]
6. I am overweight, higher BMI
I will have extra scans at level 2 done to confirm arm, leg body lengths etc... but it's just a worry more than anything.
Has anyone else gone through this as well? I am 16 weeks tomorrow.
