I've been collecting elf on the shelf bits for the last few weeks, most of it is under £2. The card factory have really gone to town this year and it will save a lot of printing out /having to make things.

The only problem is making sure I don't let DD near a card factory until after christmas!
Thought the photos might help others looking for cheap elf ideas/props. x

But first, the elves! I went to two card factories and they had two girl elves (1 x brunette 1 x blonde) and one boy with dark hair, all £2.99.

The sign I'll hang up in the hallway to let DD know the elf has arrived, and the naughty/good board will make sure the playroom is kept tidy. £1.49 each.

From the works, elf door (the card factory did have one too).
I'm going to copy buddy the elf and leave the elf on the floor with scissors and loads of cut up white paper with the snowflakes hanging above.

Elf mail - this is adorable!

From the works, the elf will leave these for her to give to her friends at school.

Elf reports, some of them are already printed on, but most are blank. I'll only use the blank as different handwriting could lead to questions.

A board for elf messages (the works £1) and colour your own advent.(card factory)

Bunting and paperchain, the elf wil start and ask DD to finish it, both from the works.

Mini candy canes for elf food and activity book both from home bargains.

Large glass from home bargains (think it was 99p) and a mini one I found in a local shop. They are for green milk. (north pole milk)

From the works, make santa's workshop and the bags are for anything I need the elf to deliver, I'll add an elf photo to each side.

This chart is amazing for 99p! from the card factory.

And finally, a christmas suitcase for the elf to bring all her stuff. Found this by all the regular gift boxes. £1.49 for this size but they did have larger ones in stock.

If you do buy anything from the works, pick up a christmas brochure at the till and there is a 20% off everything voucher on the back. x

I went in the works and got that elf. They had loads of things. I am not doing elf on the shelf but the elf is so lovely. My DD has been taking it to bed.

Wow. That is so much elf stuff LOL! She is going to love that! I don't know if I can bring myself to do the elf thing again this year; that was an enormous amount of work last year. The kids loved it, but I ended up hating it about halfway through trying to figure out what to do with the thing each day.

I know the feeling. I gave the elf a miss last year as it got to be a chore each night.
To cover myself I sent DD a gift with a letter saying that misty had to go and stay with a younger child that wasn't feeling well.

This year I've been more organised & have a list ready of ideas for each day with some really fast/easy ones.
Also think this will be the last year as DD is 8, then I'll pass all the elf stuff on to my nephew. x

Wow, is is amazing. I have got a new elf as we lost ours half way through December last year!

Wow! Thanks for this. Think a trip to Card Factory and the Works is on the cards this week.

I know where I'm headed tomorrow :haha:. There are some great bits there!

Forgot to mention in The works if you spend a certain amount (think it's £10) you can get this giant elf for £10.

Some of these are adorable! I'm gonna have to make some of these for ds since I cannot find it at all here.

Thanks for this. I will be popping into town soon, excited to pick up a few more elf bits. DS is so excited for the elves to come back. He saw them " hiding " in a storage chest last week, had to convince him Santa had magiced them into the chest to listen and see if they are being good at bedtimes.
