Does anyone do this?? What do you get the elf to do?? Looking for inspiration!!

Anyone in the uk know where to get one??

There are loads of ideas on Pinterest. I bought mine off Amazon. It's not the real Elf as I think he's kind of creepy looking. I got a cute little girl elf. This is our 1st year using so don't know what she'll do except bring the advent calendar when she shows up. I did buy a couple Christmas books that I'm going to wrap and have the elf unwrap them early so I can read them during the weeks leading up. Not sure what else.

The card factory usually have some in closer to Christmas for 99p, keep an eye on the baskets that they put colouring books in.

There have been copies of the original elf popping up on eBay lately but they get taken off really quickly so you'd have to keep an eye out. I've seen lots of elf toys in garden centres this year too.
Mostly we just hide our elf but sometimes he gets up to things...

 these are fab!!

We won't be doing that one exactly. My husband grew up with elves that would show up around Christmas and watch what him and his siblings did and reported back to santa. I think same concept, but I'll be looking for different elves. My husband said the ones his mom used were creepy looking, so I think I'm going that route.

I got mine on ebay for £7, its the elf and his girlfriend

We do something similar only with a fairy doll. We call it the kindness fairy. She visits and each day gives the girls something kind to do for someone else: bake cookies for neighbors, pick out a gift to donate, donate food to the soup kitchen, free hug day, etc. I got a fairy doll from etsy (it's a small Waldorf style doll).

The kindness fairy idea came from here:

https://www.kindnesselves.com/

I chose to use a fairy instead of an elf because the girls prefer fairies and I couldn't find an elf doll I liked.

Got ours from Simply Clintons for £5.00 and he is lovely looking :) https://www.clintoncards.co.uk/catalog/product/view/id/46077/s/12cm-dangly-elf-boy-winter-wishes/

Awww he is a cutie! £5 isn't too bad either!! Might have to change his name from "dangly elf boy" though
