ok i was just wondering does anyone else find it a bit embarrasing being around their dad while pregnant ? sounds weird i know im a grown up just cant help it almost feel like i want to cover up the bump in front of him ( i mean wear loose stuff) because it feels strange am i mad ??

well i dont. dads very proud of me and im proud of bump so no issues, not heard anyone mention this before :hugs:

My dad is a giant sook and loves to talk about "the magic of childbirth" and he asks lots of pregnancy questions. So he wants to be very involved and is very excited about it. However I feel odd around him too. It's like how you only talk to your mum about periods, talking to your dad about this is crossing those two together which I think is why it feels odd.

idk my dad...but i feel kinda wierd around my grandpa! specially when he starts talking about it. i always turn red :)

I haven't seen my dad for a year or so, but I feel the same around my brother. We are both adults, but yuck! Him knowing that I have sex grosses us both out lol.

with my first he was trying to force me to have an abortion so I tried to hide it as much as I could.....needless to say we dont talk anymore but I think I would feel like that too

Lol well they're the father figures and men in our lives who see us as young girls. Becoming pregnant..... Well it is quite a change.

I think it's similar to how my sisters feel about me, they were 6 & 3 when I told them I was pregnant and they were mortified, I think they always saw me as their sister and it's their mother who has babies not their sister. The 6 ur old went all embarressed and odd. She really felt weird about the situation. Poor thing :-( I was so excited to tell her as we're so close. So I was really upset when she acted negatively. But looking back I should have prepared her better and got her used to the idea.

I feel wierd! I think its because now they KNOW you have had sex :haha: There aint no hiding it no more!!
It still feels wierd when both my mum and dad call me 'Mummy' to my kids  God knows why!

me too! It's weird, like it was said in one romantic comedy "now your parents know for sure that we had sex"! I always wear loose clothes but still feel a bit embarrased

glad its not just me then !!! my mum is fine but my dad just cant help it he's amazing with my daughter and will be with this one too i even cringed when the neighbour asked him about me having a baby!! guess im going to have to try and just get over it bump will only grow bigger !!!

Yes!! My dad is very young (42) so people have always looked at us like we were together anyways (thats embarassing enough) but its got worse since being pregnant! Oh well i love him so i dont care ahaha

I still feel like my dads little girl, is a little strange that his little one is having a little one! I think it's very much a one way feeling though because he's very happy to talk about it and ask questions and is always pointing out nice prams and stuff.

lol. yeah i'm kinda icked out around my dad. he doesn't even know yet. he still talks to me like i'm a little girl even though i have a little girl of my own. family and friends have always said he's a little weird and...they're kinda right. i started my major in psychology and after that i could swear my dad had aspergers syndrome. Ridiculously intelligent, probably a genius, 1 or 2 serious hobbies that seem to be more of obsessions, no friends, some strange ticks and a "different" gait, inability to socialize and no interest in doing so. why my mom never noticed? if you met her you'd understand. i guess it's not just being pregnant around my dad that weirds me out, it's that everything about him weirds me out. sorry i went off topic.

I feel that way at times. I guess because I'm daddy's only little girl. And with me being only 20 he's brought up that I should've taken a morning after pill, had an abortion, or give it up after birth. But I just can't do that. Its my baby and I'll do what I can to provide for this baby. I hope he stops thinking that way once the baby is here. But sometimes he acts like he's totally fine with it. So maybe its just getting used to the fact.

I don't really feel this way about the pregnancy because I am the first to have a grandchild so he is soo excited to be a granddad. He talks about it everytime I talk to him.

Although our family is very open with everything. On my wedding night however I felt very weird because everyone "knew" what we were gonna do that night. (but actually we didn't :haha:) My dad kept nudging my arm and winking (even tho he knew me and dh had been sexually active for awhile)

Yes i am exactlly the same!!

My dad said Oh lyd your really looking pregnant now blimey . . . the other day and i just wanted to curl up in a ball i really feel awkward around him!

I think maybe it has somthing to do with how babys are made!!

x

im only 17 so feel really uncomfortable when either of my parents say anything. i think it's because of the whole them knowing you've done it sort of thing...when you're older and married its a bit obvious you have but at my age it's a bit of a "have they or havent they" situation so now they know it's still so uncomfortable lol x

haha yes I thought I only had this problem, I went to visit last week and I just kept putting things in front of bump lol its weird but I guess because mum's were pregnant at some point its not weird but with dad, like you said its just oddly embarrassing!! :haha:

My dad has been great wih me being pregnant and always asking how me and baby are.. Im just freaked that my parents know Ive had sex! lol! Stupid I know, and hubby laughed when I told him!!
