Embarrassing question about sex!

So I've never dtd while pregnant! 😳 First pregnancy I was on pelvic rest the entire time and this time I was up until 20 weeks. After that my husband (and I) were just too afraid bc we were always told we couldn't. Well I got checked today at my 39 week appt and apparently my body isn't doing anything to show it's prepping for labor and my doctor suggesting having sex. Lots of sex. My question is...do they mean for the guy to finish inside? (Ugh tmi and so embarrassing which is why I didn't ask). Is that what's softens the cervix or is that not safe to do lol. I'm such a rookie!

It's the mix of the sperm that softens the cervix, the movements, and the contractions that comes when you orgasm that could help

Yes! It's sort of a double whammy. Sperm softens the cervix. Orgasms create contractions (so even if you have some solo time, it'll still work in your favor! lol) I had sex just a few hours before going into labor with my firstborn
