I turned 40 on the 14th. On the 17th, I got a BFP. The testes got lighter and turned negative, and now I'm miscarrying. I'm SO sad. Moreso that I thought I'd be. It took us 10 cycles, and then this.....

Please give me some hope. Has anyone ever been here and gone on to have a healthy baby? It's never taken more than 3 months before, and that was coming off of the pill. We have a soon to be 2 year old, who was conceived easily. Did my eggs age that much that quickly??

I feel lost.

You are not alone! I would love to tell you my success story but unfortunately I haven't gotten there yet, but there are plenty of ladies that have!! We are on cycle 17 and had one successful BFP only to have it end a week later so I share in your frustration. Stay strong and don't give up!:hugs:

I know how hard it can be for the BFP to slowly disappear. I'm sorry you're going through that now.

To give you some hope- when I was 38, I got my 1st BFP, which turned into a chemical very soon after. We took 3 months off , I turned 39 and then our 2nd month trying, we got another BFP...this one stuck around and my son just turned 2. I'm 41 now and we conceived baby #2 after 3 months. So it can happen. Best of luck and I hope you get your sticky BFP soon!

Here's my friend's story that I JUST heard this weekend:

I had lunch with a good friend yesterday and she shows up 7 mos pregnant! apparently she was pregnant the last time we had lunch too but this is her 6th pregnancy/2nd child, so she was hesitant to tell anyone even a few months ago. I'm so happy for her - she's 41, multiple mcs, 3 different kinds of IVF and failed, all sorts of meds/acupuncture/etc and she got preg with this one naturally. I think she might have been on some meds but no IUI or IVF this time. Her RE gave her a dose of {some estrogen drug/enhancer} within the first week of her cycle. There is a theory out there that if you inject this at that time of your cycle, it kinda 'fertilizes' the ovary to generate a beautiful, high-quality egg. That's all they needed!!

there is hope!! even after IUI and IVF!

I'm a mum of 4 and 41 next month. My youngest is nearly 6 months. I'd had 3 kids before but getting pregnant was an issue. I got a bfp in oct 14 but had a mmc in the dec the next cycle was a chemical then the next no ovulation but next cycle I got my bfp and my very beautiful little girl. Good luck xx

Thanks ladies...I'm holding on to some hope.....

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know 3 women between 42 and 45 who were pregnant this year. 2 delivered healthy babies and one is due in June :) Unfortunately, miscarriages can happen to women of any age. I'm 35 and just had one and a 25 year-old acquaintance of mine just had one. I understand the time crunch you feel, but let's do our best to not assume the cause of the mc was age. My friend conceived each child the first or second try except for one that took a year, for no obvious reason. Sometimes things aren't easy, but they also aren't necessarily an indication of more bad news. Good luck. xo

Maybe give your ob a ring. Just to give you sime tests on your hormones and get a SA on you dh. It could possibly that he may need to cool off down there. If you know what I mean. Im in my early 40's too with no luck. I went to fertility specialist who found out, one tube is now blocked, which usually isnt a big deal. But my my progesterone and estrogen is slightly off. So we need help. Good luck hun

I've just been referred to an OB, and DH will be doing an SA next week, so we are on track. Focusing on getting healthy and crossing fingers and toes. Thanks ladies :)
