enlarged yolk sac

Hi –
I am new to posting, but have stalked for a while. Had a MMC before my son. We are trying for #2 and had another MMC in October 2012. Currently 9 weeks but at my 8 week scan, my yolk sac was enlarged. All else was great – measured right on date and strong heartbeat. My OB said that an enlarged yolk sac can be an indicator of a failed pregnancy, but it may not and asked me to come in for another scan at 10 weeks. Of course, I Googled it. Big mistake. Everything I found basically said this pregnancy is doomed. Like I said, I have stalked BNB for a while now and have never come across anyone talking about an enlarged yolk sac. Any others out there who had this at an ultrasound? I am preparing for the worst.

Same happened to my SIL shes 29 weeks now =o)

Samie18 - Do you mind if I ask another question? Do you know what her yolk sac measured? What ultrasound did they find it? I have a tiny bit of hope since my scan at 6 weeks was normal that it may just be a fluke. Thanks!

Same thing happened to me doc told me it was way too big and that my pregnancy wasn't viable. Gave me the number to schedule a d&c and didn't even offer a second ultrasound. I'm now 24 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy.. So I would just wait it out every pregnancy is different and doctors don know everything. GL
