We live in an upstairs 4 in a block, it's a small flat, all the doors like to slam and I have a heavy footed OH and a hyper 18 month old who runs about daft and has the occassional scream. I never heart neighbours, I only ever hear downstairs if he is locking his front door and that's just a thud but I constantly worry in being a pain. We've never had any complaints but we have laminate through out as it was the cheapest option when we moved and money was tight so that emphasises my worry. I'm starting to get a but dominated by it telling my LO to sshh, and my OH to turn the tv down.

Do you think I'm worrying for nothing? I don't know what to do but I can't get it out my head because I'd hate to be an annoyance to someone.

I'm sure if you were that bad the neighbours would come and have a quiet word already? You do have a baby though and we can't expect babies to be quiet constantly, it's just not gonna happen. I don't think you need to be worrying.

same as above hun, if i was hearing stuff like that i wouldnt mind.
my neighbours are awful. like really awful- we live in an end terrace, and the children next door (in primary school) are often still up at well past midnight, screaming fighting and playing games.
usually with a parent head shouting at them to go the fuck to sleep.
charming charming people.
we're trying to move
but rest assured atleast imo your just describing normal living noises :)

We ARE noisy. I shout. The kids shout. We have the chihuahuas who like to yap a lot. I feel really bad for the neighbours but what can you do? She is REALLY nice and I have apologised at times when the kids fighting has been bad at night :)blush:) but unfortunately, constant noise comes with having a house full. Im sure nobody is as bad as they think they are though :)

Haha, do you live above me???

To be honest, our upstairs neighbours are absolute nightmares for all the things you have just mentioned :haha: it is absolutely relentless, and they've just had wooden floor put in so it's ten times worse. We can hear everything they say and do :nope:

The thing is though, although it's driving us mad, we haven't said anything to them, because we feel we can't really say anything to them for simply "living". It's not as if they are playing loud music at antisocial hours, or they aren't having massive parties or anything, which is great. It could be so much worse, and it's not their fault our flats are so badly made. They are so paper thin. So don't worry about it, you can't help living!! :flower:

I think that it's really sweet that you care about your neighbours. There are so many nighmare neighbours out there who know exactly what they are doing and refuse to change.

It's not like you are having loud parties every night or doing it on purpose though. I'm sure if it was unbearable the neighbours would say something. I'm guessing that you aren't that loud though if you are being so considerate.

I've had really bad neighbours and had to move because of them. They were not just every day living noises thay made. You sound like your noise is just everyday living, so I wouldn't worry too much about it if I was you. :hugs: xxx

I'd just hate to think someone was unhappy because of us. We've lived in our current flat for 4 months now and nothings been said. This one is only 10 years old so I dunno if building regulations had soundproofing rules when we moved in. Our last flat was a 50's build.

We could hear EVERYTHING, next doors tv, phone ringing, talking, downstairs' radio which he had on ALL night, his tv, music. And he snidely said to my LO on the bus one day. 'Oh so its you I hear running around all the time' which has put me on a bit of a paranoia trip as shes much more mobile now.

Not much I can do though I suppose!

were ground floor and honestly i can hear EVERYTHING upstairs do!!

i hear them watching tv, banging around at like midnight moving furniture and hoovering past midnight, i can hear them going to the loo too!

maybe if you are that worried go and speak to them and ask if they can hear you, chances are they cant.

my neighbours are a nightmare!!! x

we're ground floor in a block of flats.
we hear upstairs sometimes. we don't hear their tv or anything. i can hear them if they're being a bit heavy footed. OH recons he can hear the bloke peeing but i've not heard it! i can hear their washing machine when it's spinning but it's not really loud. i don't mind too much as they're all normal things that happen! if they were playing loud music and things i'd have to say something.

our block is solid though. you really don't hear a lot. i'm sure they can hear us though because jake's always slamming doors or crying. :dohh:

I've heard the feller upstairs vomiting after a night out.
And I have also heard the hangover diarrhea the morning after.

Complete with farts!!

In our previous house, me and OH were having a bit of an ermmm "heated discussion" in the living room :)haha:) and we heard a noise. We stopped. Looked at each other and burst out laughing. We could hear the guy next door watching porn in his living room and could even hear his moaning and groaning!!!

I've heard upstairs :sex: before. Their room is above ds1 bedroom and I've gone in his room at 1am before banging his ceiling with a broom
