Right TMI warning.

I've mentioned this before, about possibly little bits of mucus plug when I wipe.

Luckily I have my midwife appointment Wednesday and will mention it to them.

But it's happened quite a few times when I wipe and there's something that I can only really guess is bits of mucus plug stuff on the tissue after I pee.

Happened a few times this week. Anyone else get this often?? Rather than just like a one time occurance? Is this a bad sign of something or just completely normal for it to regularly happen and it forms a new one or something?

Thing is google is horrible and when I type in mucus plug the only thing it mentions is that it's usually closer to when you give birth?!

If I'm getting smaller bits of it come away early on, does that mean I will have a greater chance at baby coming earlier than he should?

As pregnancy progresses through the 2nd trimester and into the third, the cervix continues to create more mucous. It's not just the "plug," but often results in discharge throughout the day. Many women wear pantyliners.

Definitely ask your MW about it when you see her next, at least for peace of mind, but try not to overly worry until then, it sounds to me like a normal symptom. And avoid google! You'll always find the worst-case scenarios and freak yourself out!

I'm. 13w and I have to wear liners. Vaginal discharge is what you should look up if you do look up stuff. (but trust me, I just freaked myself out over blood in urine that was a bladder infection, google gave options like kidneys stones, UTI and CANCER! I had no pain and no burning so my mind jumps to the extreme!)
vaginal discharge is normal all through pregnancy and can be anywhere from light and runny to snotty looking and thick (looks much like the plug). It has a job which is to protect the cervix and vagina from infections, some people make more than others, especially if you have a very healthy immune system or are under 40. I've already asked my doc these question cause I had thick lumpy discharge from 5 weeks on and he said that my cervix looked great and the excess discharge was a sign of healthy pregnancy unless it is blood tinged.

It's just I've seen a full on mucus plug before someone's due to deliver and it looks like a smaller piece of that.

Like I've got the added discharge too anyway at times, but that's definitely a lot more watery. This stuff is icky. I will mention it to her.

I just didn't want say bits of it to be coming out regularly as a sign of baby may come early. As excited as I am to meet him he needs to stay in a while longer!

I duno my other half said he's convinced he's coming early and he's been right about everything in the pregnancy so far strangely and I worry about every little twingey pain I get.

I wish I took a photo of it last night to at least show the midwife. It looks so similar to the 'mucus plugs' I looked up, but smaller.

Definitely gonna stay away from google. But just wondered if anyone else had this too where it was more of a mucus thing than discharge.

Yeah I get mucus when I wipe. Dont think its anything to worry about - I had all sorts of strange secretions with my daughter haha

Ive had mucus looking plug on nearly every wipe since 12-14w maybe.

Personally i dont believe is any connection between the 2, ive never lost my plug and then labour has started as the books say.

I was 5-6cm when i had my first internal no main mucus plug before that. I had been losing it since 32w but cervix check at 36w confirmed it was closed

If you have concerns regarding yours go see your mw and l&d :)

I get mucus every now and then when I wipe. I think it's a pretty normal symptom. I personally wouldn't worry too much.

When I lost my plug with DD, it was A LOT (I mean, like a palmful) and had streaks of blood in it. And was right at 40 weeks after my doctor did a sweep.
