I've been in a predicament...it's in the middle of summer and it's blazing hot outside. The California valley is the worst this time of the year. :nope: So up until recently, I've managed to not only keep the weight off, but even lose a little while trying to stay healthier this pregnancy. I gained 40 lbs with Micah, and it wasn't really from eating more...but from moving less. I usually put Micah in his stroller and we head out, which keeps him happy and I get to exercise. But now that it's so hot out, I haven't been able to do the usual 5 miles a day I normally do.

By the time it's finally cool enough to get a walk in, Micah is sleeping. He falls asleep around 7 pm, and if I try and push it any later, he throws a screaming fit. What should I do? I don't want to get completely out of shape and all the not exercising has been even worse on my energy levels! :nope:

Could you exercise early in the morning instead like between 5am-6am? The sun should would not be out by then but everywhere should be bright enough to walk or jog.

Actually hadn't thought of this and I love this idea! ...ha wonder why I hadn't thought of this before? That way DH can stay with LO while I go out for a bit.

I go out early in the morning (am in the uk so don't need to get up extra early to avoid the heat, just need to make sure I'm back before dh has to get to work)

It feels great to get my run in first thing then I can normally find the energy for a pregnancy DVD or just some yoga in the evening.

Good luck with it!

Glad this was helpful!
