Experience going off BCP

Hey ladies. I'm back but waiting still. On cd17 out of what may be a 28-30 day cycle. Cm is playing tricks on me so I'll just Continue bd every other day until AF is close to being due. If I O-ed when I think I did I got a lot of bd -ing in with OH. Kind of wishing I started opks this cycle but don't know what brand is reliable and not so costly. Plus I'm afraid it may cause more stress. Idk. Any advice for an over thinker/ worrier? Lol

OPKs are tricky. I ended up going for the digital one because I found it easier to just get a blank circle or a smiley face rather than agonise over the lines but the digi ones are more costly. See how this cycle goes - if your cycles stay regular, then you should be able to roughly figure out when O is. Sounds like the BD is going well - good luck!! X

Webby sorry to hear AF was horrible this cycle! I'm CD1 today, spotting turned heavy overnight. I'm not usually heavy so thinking this one might be horrible too!

They decided they will increase my dose. I was on 2.5mg which is the minimum, so I'll be on 5mg from CD3. She said it isn't the highest dose yet and that they hope it will make me O when I'm supposed to!

Puppylove I used digital OPKs like Webby did. I prefer the digital for the same reasons. However, they detect a surge in LH, and surges occur throughout your cycle. So mine detected a surge, and told me I was O'ing but I wasn't. I actually O'd a week later. I think that's quite unique tho. Despite that I'll still use them this cycle but will use the cheaper wondfu ones!

Thanks you guys. Thats helpful insight. :)

How common do you think it is to have anovulatory cycles after getting your real period on time and cm mostly looking like it should through both first 2 cycles after coming off bcp? I'm probably over thinking this but I can't help but ask lol.

I think anovulatory cycles when your cycles are regular and other symptoms are good like your CM are unusual but not impossible I guess. I'm not the right person to ask as my cycles are pretty irregular!

OPKs are good for detecting upcoming ovulation but don't confirm ovulation. Like k8nz it predicts the LH surge but your body might not ovulate after that surge for whatever reason so it might try and ovulate a bit later on instead.

Our bodies can be very confusing at times!

You've got that right webby lol. Our bodies can be so confusing. I think I'll just track cm and do opks next cycle and if that still doesn't work after a couple months I'll start temping. We'll see.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you PuppyLove!

How's AF k8nz? X

AF hasn't been bad this cycle Webby, currently on CD4 and think it'll be my last day of AF. We moved house this weekend so I've been nice and distracted! It's going to take us a while to settle into our new home so hoping it keeps me distracted during this cycle :)

How's hubby's surgery recovery coming along Webby?

Sounds like things are going pretty well for you puppylove, hope everything stays regular!

Ooo house move sounds exciting! And like a good distraction. Hubby is back at work this week but still struggling a bit so no baby making this month so I'm glad I didn't go back on clomid or anything. I've had lots of EWCM today and the past couple of days so I'm hoping that my body is trying to ovulate on its own....we'll see! We're going to visit family abroad for a couple of weeks at the end of this week so that will keep my distracted and hopefully AF will come so by the time we get back I can get back to baby making mode as I feel like this year is running away from me since we started trying at the beginning (well...February - nearly beginning!) I'll still be on here to drop in and see how you guys are doing whilst I'm away :)

K8nz, glad AF wasn't too bad. How are you finding the new house?

Puppylove - how is this cycle going?

Update from me - doesn't look like I'm ovulating on my own :( Oh well, at least I know that now so here's to just chilling out and then going back on clomid when hubby's recovered.
How are you guys doing? X

Oh Webby that is disappointing :( how did you figure that out? How is hubby coming along? I hope you're trip is fantastic and relaxing! Where are you off to?

I'm CD11 today so nearing my fertile window, assuming it's a regular one which it wasn't last time! Last cycle we BD'd like mad during my supposed fertile window then nothing after, so this time I want to take a more relaxed approach, just BD every other day (or more if the mood strikes!) and see what happens. We still have a room full of boxes from our house move and family visiting next weekend so plenty to keep me occupied!!

How's it going with you puppylove?

That sounds like a good strategy k8nz! I hope that your fertile window is nice and clear this time round.
I know I'm not ovulating because of the temping - when you ovulate you have a rise in your bbt and mine just keeps getting lower lol. And my EWCM is now drying up... My body is obviously trying to ovulate but not pulling through. At least I know now, so when we come back we have a game plan!
We're off to UK. Got family there and a good friend's wedding.

Sounds like your house stuff is exciting! As you said, a nice little project to keep you occupied till your family comes to visit! Keep us posted! Xx

Quick update from me.. currently CD16 and I should be just about ovulating if my cycle was going to be "normal" but so far I've had no positive OPKs.. so looks like it's going to be another long cycle with late ovulation! I'm not too stressed about it as I know I do O after last cycle, so just need to keep testing an BD every other day!

How's things going for you Webby and puppylove?

Hey! I'm so sorry I haven't been in contact. I've been away but am now back home. I thought I'd log in whilst I was away but it was actually nice to have a distraction from everything.

K8nz - really keen to hear how you're getting on! I've been thinking about you.

As for me, I'm back home now. I've had one cycle since the clomid cycle. I had about a week of EWCM but no ovulation was confirmed and I'm not even sure if I got a proper period. I had a few random days of brown spitting and that was it. I've got an obgyn appointment today just to touch base and see how things are going. To add complications into the mix, we've also had a few confirmed cases of Zika where I live as well so I want to ask her opinion about that too!

Welcome back Webby!! I hope your trip away was lovely and relaxing!

Oh my gosh, a confirmed case of zika is scary!! It will be interesting to see what they say about that, and also hear how your check up goes.

I'm currently 10dpo and got a bfn this morning. Just 4 days until af is due and my cervix has started to drop so looks like af will be here soon! Quite disappointed as I feel like we perfectly timed our bd this cycle, and I actually had spotting on 6dpo for an evening which I've NEVER had before, so thought that might have been a good sign! My doc usually calls around this time to discuss the plan for next cycle, so I'm going to ask if hubby's sperm can be tested, just to be sure. I'm also going to try preseed this next cycle as I don't think I make nearly enough cm on my own during the fertile window.

Aw sorry about the bfn but remember, you're not completely out till AF shows her face! I've stopped checking my cervix now as it was too confusing! I swear it changed positions at least 3 times a day! Really hoping that good news will come for you! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm currently on cd9. My obgyn is going to track me this cycle. I have one or two follicles that may look promising so she's told me to ring her when I get a positive OPK so they can get me on for a booster shot and do another ultrasound. She's put me back on estrace (the blue vagina pills!) because my lining is very thin still. If this cycle doesn't work, then she doesn't want to try clomid again because of my thin lining but will try some shots which I'll have to take for ten days. Blue cm here I come!!

Hey k8nz - how's it going? I've been keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Not much going on my end. No positive OPK. Had another check up and ultrasound today and she said things are moving slowly so I'm going back on Thurs unless I get another positive OPK before then. Good news is that the blue vagina pills are working as my lining is getting better
