Bad/ good, tell me! I'm having some major weight gain/ bloating round my middle. I look about 6 months pregnant! I might be deluded but I don't remember this before!

I'll let you know next week adtwr my scan if the missing strings and random pains are something terrible or not!!! I had some awful side effects to start with, how long have you had it?
X

Bloating is a common side effect of the mirena

Eugh. I've only had it about 3 months. I had trouble deciding between the mirena and copper and when I got to the appointment she was like 'so which one do you want?' And it kind of felt like a snap decision. I'm not happy, hubby says he wants no more children.. So go have the snip!!? Raspberry I hope yours hasn't gone travelling and everything's ok

I really liked my first mirena, my only side effect war swelling in the ankles/legs.

My second mirena war good until about 2.5 years into it. I got anxiety like mad, bloating, swelling got worse, heart palpitations, cold intolerance, random stomach pains, and pelvic pain.

Most of it has gone away since mine was removed however I still deal with anxiety and occasional swelling of my ankles...

This picture is my ankles during the mirena and a month after removal.

I've had only good experiences both times. I need it for medical reasons when not pregnant but had no adverse effects and it stopped my periods completely after a few weeks of spotting. Considering I had periods so heavy they kept me from leaving the house before that was a huge advantage

I've had no side effects. I spotted a little for the first month but since my first period that's stopped. My period was really light too.

Well, it's out! I'm so glad. I'm never having hormones again unless it's the pill.

I have had my mirena coil in for 3.5 years. 4 years in november. I am actually having it taken out on tuesday as i just cant cope with it anymore. Constant bloating, stomach pains, tired, constant diahorrea, weight gain etc....
I feel pregnant every month but im not. I'd rather not be feeling like this every month!

Im swapping over to the pill. I personally cant wait to get it out but thats my experience, others may be different.

Sorry mine isnt a very good review hun:nope:

Did nothing improve? I'm waiting for a second referral x

No it was awful. The nurse was wanting me to make an appointment for the copper coil but I'm going to wait and see. What's your referral for?
