My husband recently bought a new house. I'm a big germophobe, and wanted everything cleaned with bleach. My husband was the one who cleaned everything that needed to be bleached, I tried to stay as far as I could but was still able to smell some bleach for a little period of time, and I cleaned a bit with lysol, and other cleaners for a few days. Also at work I'm sometimes required to clean with bleach and lysol. Today they also installed new granite counter tops and stainless steel sink in my home. I left while they were doing it because there was such a strong smell throughout the whole house.. my husband said it was probably a silicon seal they used. I came back later and the smell was less strong but still there. I was here for about an hour or so before i left again, and coming home I can still smell it.. I opened some windows and turned the fans on and it seems to be lightening up but I'm worried it could still affect the baby being in the house with the smell and also worried that being in contact with all these chemicals so much for the past week or so has caused harm. Any advice?

I would try and limit your exposure to any chemicals and when your at home make sure the kitchen window is open for a while till the smell has gone...Also when cleaning always have windows open. I don't know much about this but this is what i would do if i were in your position.

Keep the windows open for a while. If it gets humid where you are, thats even better. I spray painted some furniture and the smell was really strong for a few days. It got humid one day and the paint cured and that was the end of the smell.
