Just had a call from the maternity unit to say that the nurse that treated me in the EPU has slapped cheek. I need to get blood tests to see if I am immune. My mum said I never had it as a child so I assume I won't be immune. I am in tears, absolutely terrified.

My son had it afew times around me in pregnancy and my ob didnt seem concerned xx

Are you sure it's the same thing. I don't think you can get it more than once.

It also depends on your stage of pregnancy-not such an issue after 20 weeks.

It can be very dangerous up to that point.

I lost my son at 32 weeks and the doctor sId it was bc I contracted slapped cheek (I'm immune so that's a whole other rant) but you need to be tested as it can cause loss...I would just do the tests and try to stay positive.

Oh and I don't recall ever having it but as a teenager I worked in a day care and pretty sure I contracted it then!!
