Expressing when milk comes in...

Hi ladies, just a quick question if you don't mind...
When I had Abi and my milk first came in there was loads of it and I was leaking through breast pads likes there's no tomorrow, I wondered if I expressed this milk to start a stash would I just be creating a problem where my body would always think it needed to produce this much but could i carry on expressing and feeding atvthe same time, and how long can it stay frozen for?

I didn't express for precisely that reason. I used those first few weeks to allow my baby to regulate my supply.

I agree with the above. If you pump in the first six to eight weeks, you risk OVERsupply

For future reference, it's 5 hours at room temp, 5 days in the fridge, and 5 months in the freezer (defrost slowly in the fridge for 24 hours).
