hello all -
there's lots of info about slightly large kidneys on this forum but our little one has extremely large kidneys - i'm 26 weeks and his kidneys are 37 weeks (but they say they appear to be functioning as they should). they're also echogenic. additionally, his skull is not as developed or opaque as it should be and his head/brain are 4 weeks bigger than they should be (although, again, appears to be functioning and developing as it should). his arms and legs are about 2 weeks big. we've seen a genetic counselor and have other tests lined up - they're telling us since multiple systems are involved it seems likely it's a chromosomal deletion (or something like that) and we won't know the extent of the damage until it manifests. anyone had anything similar? or know of any resources? of course, i'm freaking out and preparing for the worst - although exactly what The Worst could end up being changes on a minute-to-minute basis. all thoughts or information would be appreciated. thanks for reading this!
