Hi all, I am 23 weeks today and at my 17 week anatomy scan the doctors discovered a anomaly on my placenta. They originally thought it was a Chorioangioma and sent me for a Level II scan. I had my first Level II scan at 18 weeks and at that scan they found it wasn't a Chorioangioma but still were not sure what it was. It is a lump on the placenta that has blood flow to it and they measured it at 4.9cm. They wanted to make sure it didn't grow so I went back today at 23 weeks for a follow up and the lump is still there but hasn't changed, gotten bigger or smaller. Today they told me they think it is an extra lobe of the placenta and said I needed to be scanned again in 6 weeks. They just want to monitor the placenta and baby and make sure it is not restricting her growth or anything like that. As of right now she is measuring perfect if not a little ahead. Has anyone else had this or something similar? Was anything special done at delivery? Just can't find a whole lot about it out there and was curious.
