False LH surge?

Hello there:wave: I took clomid this cycle on days 3-7 and started testing with opks on cd10, on cd16 I tested at noon and got a positive answer ovulation test and a smiley on a digital(yayy, or so I thought), I work and forgot to bring an opk with me so I didn't test again until I got home that night at 12am and it had already gone negative. Usually I have a long lh surge and will get positives for about 3 days but since I took clomid I'm wondering if maybe I just so happened to of ovulated the same day I took my opks? or if it was a false surge. I'm sooo confused, I have been getting negatives since and now the test line is getting very faint, I'm not sure if I should start my tww countdown yet someone please help before I lose my mind lol

It wouldn't be a false surge. You can have multiple lh surges in a cycle, even an annovulory cycle. Keep on testing with OPKs to see if you have another surge and make sure to BD.
