Yeah, if my parents behaved this way, I'm sorry but they could suck it. If I want to find out the gender, then I will do so, and it's not up to them. They can deal with it.

Luckily, my parents have been pretty good about my pregnancies so far. At least as far as that goes. Mostly I just get unwanted advice and frowns when they think I'm doing something wrong.

I am sorry you are having trouble with your parents . The only problem I have run into was MIL wanting to buy used stuff all the time. I ended up caving on 1 or 2 things, but she has really loosened up once I explained to OH how I felt about that. As for the gender and finding out, I got really lucky. MIL is really supportive, and she is the only one I really have to worry about since I don't talk to my parents.

haha i almost got the whole name thing yesterday. We found out we're having a boy.. and when i told my mum his name she just went "ohhhh okayy" lol.

I really feel for you! Both our sets of parents started to try and throw their weight around when we were expecting our first but that was closed down quite quickly, however it wasn't easy and did cause offence and bad feeling at first. Glad we nipped it in the bud as what some of you are being subjected to sounds horrendous.

Your parents made their choices as parents now it's your turn to make the choices.
