fancy dress on a budget

we are going to my cousins 21st in a months time and its fancy dress. The theme is childrens tv or film characters. They live 3 hours away so we are already paying to stay over, petrol and probably a meal before we even get to the party so we havent got much money to spend and need 3 costumes. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Tinkerbell.

Cheap green vest.
Thick ribbon to tie around your waist
Mesh, cut into strips and tie round the ribbon - homemade tutu.
Pick up some wings and a wand from pound store.


Captain Hook / Pirate: black cape, patch, pirates hat & sword

Kids costumes are relatively cheap.

Thanks. My sisters are going as tinker bell peterpan and hook so cant do those but that was along the lines of what i was thinking. I just had a thought for lo. Im dending him as a rugrat! blue tshirt and a nappy. Just how he likes to be!
