When did u put ur LO ones on fast flow teats my LO one is comin up to 5 months..and i no they say the fast flow teats are from 6 months but did any off u change the teats ealry!!

LO sometimes struggles to drink a bottle do u think she is ready for the next teat??

Also when did u try and wean LO off a bottle in the day and put the milk in a beaker/sippy cupp and just have a bottle for night time feeds?

do you have medium flow teats where you're from? i have the ones LO in using now, and then ones for 3-6 months, and then ones for 6 months +

i don't think i'm going to change LOs teats when hes 3 months though because he gags alot on his bottles due to his reflux and i can only imagine a faster flow making them worse

DD has reflux, and we didn't move her to the 3 month teats until she was 6 months. She's still on them, although now that she's managed to master her sippy cup without dribble, I think I'll move her to the 6 month teats soon. She's 10 months now.

The guide lines on these are tosh angel (like alot of em) aiden was on medium at 4 weeks (3 months app) and fast at 8 weeks - drank like a dream xxx

Our LO has been on the medium teats since she was 4 weeks too. I would go with your instincts. They may have a little spillage to start with, but once they are used to the flow of it, they shouldnt do it anymore.

Omar was suffering from reflux & he was on thick formula. He was on 6+ Dr. Browns at 12 weeks. He still takes milk from a feeding bottle as he gags once he tastes milk in a cup.

ETA: If she's struggling to drink her bottles you try the next teat size. xx

My son is 8 months and never used fast flow, he has had variflow from about 2 months they adapt to however fast the baby wants to drink so I think there perfect.

We use Dr Brown's bottles. We used level 1 for the first 2 months then moved to level 2 (designed for 3 - 6 months). We recently moved up to the level 3 faster flow teats and Alex is just over 5 months old. We've moved him up because he is getting bored of his bottles! That, and also he is teething really badly so after a while of sucking his mouth gets too sore to suck any more. The new teats have made a big difference. He gets more milk, more quickly, and that means a happier baby! If you feel your LO is ready for a faster flow I would give it a try. I found when we moved from level 1 to 2 that there was milk everywhere for a week or two until he got the hang of the flow but the transition this time has been really easy with no mess :)

we use TT CTN fast flow now, just changed from vari flow, but he does have Gaviscon in his bottles!

We were using comfort formula, which is thicker, and used fast flow teats from about 3 months. Ignore the ages and change when your LO seems ready.

We went with the guidelines and started using them at 6 months, if you feel your LO is ready though give it a go. I disliked the variflow ones though, they made LO gag a bit as she wasnt sure how much to suck on the teeth, sometimes it came out too fast and then too slow.

Sorry to hijack, but where do you get your medium flow teats from? I'm in Canada too and can only find slow and fast.
It was taking almost an hour to feed her so I switched her to fast (since that was my only other option) and they made her spit up like CRAZY!

I use playtex advance bottles and as far as I have seen there is only slow flow and fast flow no in between. Madison will sometimes get frustrated at us/bottle because it's not coming out to her pace so I thought maybe she was ready for fast flow (around 4 months old) and when we gave it to her it took a bit for her to get used to the flow but she did...we did change back to slow flow because even though she could drink it okay she started puking/spitting up more which she didn't do with slow flow so I think she was getting too much too fast for her little belly. All you can do is try...if it doesnt work go back to the slow flow :)

I had pretty much the exact same experience with the fast flow. I can't find medium :(

Ya, I haven't found medium...I'm sure it's different for every brand but Playtex I have never seen a med flow nipple so I assumed they didnt exist for that brand! Im sure others must have them but I don't use any other bottle so I'm just sticking with slow flow lol

Avent bottles have newborn, slow (0-3 months) medium (3-6 months) and fast (6+) teats.
