Hi ladies,

I'm hoping for some advice.:flower:

I have been ebf my 9 month old but I am returning to work shortly and so for the last couple of months trying to introduce a bottle to him. He has completely refused until a couple of weeks ago when he suddenly took a couple of ounces. I was thrilled as I needed some peace of mind that he would take a bottle or cup of milk at nursery if needed.

However over the last couple of days he's suddenly refused all breast feedings during the day and gets crazy until getting a bottle and will drink about 4 ounces each time (7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm) but no more. He is on 3 meals but only small sips of water.

So my questions are:
Has anyone experienced such a dramatic wean?
Do you think he will be getting enough fluids?
Do you have any advice for dealing with the soreness and sadness

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I haven't encouraged this as I wanted to go for as long as possible so I'm quite sad and have been tying to offer the breast at all the times he bf before but he just pulls off :(

It could be the speed of delivery the bottle offers. Maybe try a slow flowing nipple so it's comparable to bf?
