What is your favourite accent?

I love the Geordie accent (newcastle) and the proper Yorkshire accent. I also think the Australian accent is cute.

i actually like almost every accent, i think mine is boring, being from Leeds, there's just nothing to it

I love Irish accents. Though I lived with an Irish girl for a short while and not a single person could understand anything she said

Also I don't know which accent it was supposed to be but Zainab Massod's from Eastenders! I only used to watch it to listen to her talk :haha:

I kind of like an Irish accent but not the annoying high pitch that some men have :haha: My OH is Irish but only has a very weak accent which comes out stronger every now & again (mainly when he's angry lol) His family all have really strong accents though & can be a bit hard to understand sometimes!

ETA I forgot to add I also kind of like a Scottish accent just again not in an annoying high pitch voice lol xx

I love the Irish & Australian accent.

I have a twang of Yorkshire accent. I live on the border of North Yorkshire moors.

I love British accents and Southern American accents. I never thought I had an accent, actually, but when I lived in South Carolina while doing my masters degree, people there told me they could tell I was from Ohio just by the way I pronounced certain words, and because I used certain words for things that only people in Ohio really use. Like "pop" for soda. I think we're one of the only states that does that.

I like posh English accents. Well not posh, but Southern. Being from the North any Southern accent sounds posh to me! I am also a sucker for Irish accents on men. I am moving to Hull soon, and unfortunately for me I pick up accents super quickly. Have to say goodbye to pronouncing my Os properly

I tend to dislike most accents until I meet someone I like with that accent haha, if you had of asked me a few months ago what my most disliked one is I would have said scouse, but I've recently made good friends with a girl from Liverpool and now I love it lol, same with South African I used to find that odd but my favourite MW was South African so now I really like it. I now like Geordie because of Cheryl Cole. Now I can't even think of an accent I don't like. I'm weird lol. But Southern American specifically Mississippian is one of my favourites, love a southern drawl and takes me back to my uni days.

People find me odd as I speak with a very Southern English accent but grew up in Wales and despite being able to speak a fair bit of Welsh.

i also love the irish accent but not the strong one u cant understand, my OHs gran is half irish, he can do the accent really well. but its kinda annoying on him!!
i also like the scouse accent, but again not strong just slight accent LOL.
i say i have no accent but a while back i was speaking to someone from sheffield, he always said he could talk to me for hours just with my accent, i think its boring and plain but i guess to others its not..

i also find it fascinating how within a country there can be so many accents that are recognized, but other countries kind of lump them all together, lol. There are many within America, but I think we get lumped into American, Southern American.

British apparently has many, as posted here, but they all just sound the same to me. I just lump it all together as British. Same with some of the others, like Irish, Australian, etc.

I love Morello's accent in OITNB but have no idea what it is :haha:

I think it's New Jersey/New Yoick lol, I'm sure an American could pin point better I love that too :) you should watch the Sopranos lots of it there!

I can recognise a few, like New Jersey, deep South and Midwest. I never understand what Americans mean when they make fun of the Canadian accent though. Like it sounds exactly the same!

Geordie! As i'm from Newcastle, though I left 4 years ago so mine has changed quite to a bit.

It depends where they are from in Canada. Some of the regions that are close to the US sound just like us, but other regions further north definitely sounds a lot different. I have some friends from Canada, and sometimes its not even the accent we make fun of, just the words they use all the time. Like they say "eh" a LOT. My one friend has stopped doing it, but it took him a concerted effort to stop saying it after every sentence, as it was just so common for him to say it.

Love the welsh accent, north wales especially, actually any accent really. After nearly 18 years on forces based across several countries I have no real accent although people at various times ask if I am Australian or American. I think it's the fact I have no real accent but at the same time don't sound particularly well spoken lol.

I love the Dutch accent, it's so awesome. I make sure to stop off in a petrol station while passing through just to hear it :P I also have some Dutch friends and they talk so awesome xD

Ooh I love a good Dutch accent too!! Also Welsh and Irish. And Scottish! I'm a proper sucker for an accent. Except Scouse - I really hate a strong Scouse accent. People think we sound like Geordie's but really were very different lol. I have a weird accent though because I went to a 'posh' school. Xx

Nope I'm sorry but absolutely everyone where you live sounds exactly like a Geordie! :haha:
