Fears Confirmed - 3rd Missed Miscarriage

I have had the tests for blood clotting and now I am on the clexane injections. They are not that bad as you inject them in fat not muscle, and so far they are working for me.
You should ask for the following tests:
1) blood clotting tests for you
2) day 3-5 hormone tests for you
3) genetic blood tests for you and your partner
4) pelvic ultrasound for you.

In 50% of cases of recurrent miscarriage, one of these tests shows up a possible cause. If you know what the cause is then they can find the right treatment to improve your chances.

It's not mad not to tell him, I can understand your reasons, but have you got someone else supporting you at home? It would be awful to be all alone at this time.

Thanks for that info as i haven't a clue what tests to ask for and i don't really trust the NHS with all their cutting costs etc

Good job i took about private medical insurance about a month ago so i think i will go through them

Cheers

Hope, those are the standard tests that the NHS should be offering you, I got them all at my local hospital. Go and see a GP when your miscarriage is over and ask to be referred to the gynaecologist for recurrent miscarriage investigations. If you have had three unexplained miscarriages you are eligible so they should have no reason to refuse you. If they do, complain, and see another gp.
From being referred, I had to wait six weeks for my first appointment and then another eight weeks to get the results all back. In some areas the waiting list for gynae might be longer.

Aah darling I am so sorry...it's not much consolation but am thinking of you.

She only mentioned the test about blood clotting, did'nt mention anything else

When i went to see my GP after the 2nd miscarriage i was told there's nothing they can do as it was before 12 weeks and just keep trying - this is one of the reasons we took out private healthcare cos i didn't believe him

She did say today i would need to wait 6 weeks before any blood tests were done, i'm not to keen on having to wait 8 weeks for the results thou as thats over 3 months before i can start trying again.

2011 seemed to be a good year for us, lots of fun and court cases finished with, its heading in the same direction as what 2010 was, totally shite :nope:

Thanks for all your advice Kat, it helps if i know what i am talking about sort of when i start to demand tests and answers

I'm so sorry hun. Are they going to investigate what is causing the miscarriages?
Have you have your progestrone levels tested in pregnancy?

I took out private healthcare insurance a month or so ago so i will get the doctor to refer me now

I think the NHS would do it otherwise but seeing as i am paying for private healthcare i may as well make use of it

I have not had anything tested so far becuase when i went to see the doc after the 2nd miscarriage he informed me there was nothing that could be tested because it was before 12 weeks

I now know that is utter crap and a lady on this forum has advised what tests i need to be asking for

x

were u having pains or bleeding ? x

No, absolutely nothing

I found out about the first two missed miscarraiges at 12w scan, i just knew this was the same becuase i felt the same with the other two pregnancies, not pregnant

Just waiting now for it to happen

i cant possibly know what your goin though my thoughts are with you and fam xx

SO sorry to hear this. did they ever give you any indication that this was going to happen to prepare you? Sometimes they can predict problems on an earlier previous scan. You will get there x x x :hugs:
