as the title says what do you do??

with breast its different but for those expressing or use formula how do you do it??

Im confused as got told different things in hospital :)

i fed on demand and let her find her own routine (bottle) congratulations

Demand but Hannah set her own routine, and the days we've gotten off that routine have been the worst days

I feed on demand... but he is pretty much right on schedule... he seems to have a built in alarm clock that tells him exactly when 4 hours has passed lol, even during the night... breast or bottle (i do both)

Even bottle feeding you should feed on demand... :)

thanks girls.... !! Its so confusing being in hospital especially for the amount of days I was in cos you get so many different views etc....!! different midwives and docs say different!!!

I just worry abit about over feeding her...!! Cos she was very sick one night and mw said "she prob had too much"!! I just worry Im not judging it right!! She just had 80ml with her last feed being at 10pm!! So she went 6 hours ... !!

I feed on-demand.I started with a routine but it was too stressful for me and the LO. We are both happy with the on-demand arrangement. The strange thing is most midwives promote routine whereas most pediatricians promote on-demand!

lol see i found different.... i was happy doing it on demand... then pediatrician came round and said what she feeding... I said well she had x amount 4 hours ago and he looked it me shocked and said she should have 30-40ml every 3 hours

Where as my midwives said leave her if shes sleeping!! Which is what I have been doing :)

I feed on demand. Now that she is coming up on 4 months I'm trying to get her more into a routine. I'm letting her tell me when she's hungry still, but I'm trying to do a routine of Sleep, Activity, Eat, Sleep, blah, blah, blah.

i feed on demand but when he was in hospital it was every 3hrs (30-40mls). but when i was discharged the docs told me just to feed him on demand. Courtney will let you know when she is hungry!

I've found greater success feeding on demand than routine.

I fed on demand and Oscar found is own routine. A lot of people told me to try to get him to go longer/givre him water and blaaaa de blaaaa.

he was very unhappy and at one point so very ill we ended up in AnE

Do what you feel is right, you will be surprised how your intuition kicks in :)
