I realized yesterday that I had been putting way to much water when making up feeds for lo, almost double the amount per amount of formula. I did it for about 2 days worth of feeds. I am terrified that I've done serious damage to him. I just can't believe how stupid I am  I've read horrible things that over watered formula can do to babies. I just hope 2 days worth wont be that serious. I couldn't stop crying yesterday because of it. Hubby keeps telling me it's ok that it was just a mistake but I feel so guilty. He seems fine and had a dr's appointment on Tuesday and everything was normal then. Didn't realize I had been doing it on Tuesday or I would have mentioned it to the dr. Do you think he'll be fine???? I feel like such a failure  Only 2 weeks old and I've already screwed up :nope:

Hi Hun, Im sure that He will be ok, and I am sure that your bubba will let you know quick if something is wrong. I think that it would of been worse if you would put more formula per water than recomended. Just keep your eye on him. Hugs

Oh please don't feel so terrible. Its actually recommended that you give more water than formula if the baby has constipation. So while that isn't the case with your little one, it certainly can't do any harm.

If it's any consolation, my son's no.2's have always been pretty hard and he struggles to push them out so I've almost always given a little bit more water than I should have. Besides softening his poo, it's never done him any harm.. and he's 6 months old today :)

Don't get me wrong, I'm no medical expert and I wouldn't recommend anyone doing what I do with my son's formula feeds without seeking medical advice first, I'm just saying, from experience, more than the required amount of water has never done any harm.

Don't stress sweetie. If there is a problem your lo will let you know about it. 2 days won do much harm I'm sure. Just keep an eye out and if your really worried ask a dr or health visitor :)
