feeling crap over birthday presents . . . (money)

I got Daisy a trike and we've used it about 5 times, it's a bloody nuisance

I think I spent less than a tenner on LO's first birthday and he didn't notice! Won't be getting him much at Chrimbo either.
It's natural to want to spend loads on your baby....I still do with my teenage girls lol but when you empty the loft in years to come and find tonnes of toys that you thought they wanted/needed and yet the didn't even play with it's heartbreaking.
I refuse to buy into companies marketing now that I know how much I have spent in the past which has not been appreciated.

We have bought things for LO when it hasn't been a special occasion. Got a trike from car boot for £12 and he loves it.
Now would be a great time to get a bargain second hand one and if you want new there will be loads of toy sales coming up (Sainsburys and Argos have good ones)

I felt the same. I spent about £30. But tbh he won't remember what you brought him hun. xxxx
