I have no doubts that this is the right decision for you! I'm so sorry you've had to go through what you did. It's upsetting that your family aren't understanding, especially knowing what you've been through.
I've had an ELCS and have been given the date to have another should I choose to take it. I'm not sure what I'll be doing yet as I have questions I need to put forward to my MW before I make my final decision. It's the stay in hospital and the recovery with a 1 year old that is putting me off, only because I missed OH so much last time and I'll miss him and DD this time. My recovery was brilliant, I up walking twice in the same night after having her in the afternoon. Plus all the people I know who have had both EMCS and ELCS have said the recovery from a ELCS is much easier!
I had a great experience with my ELCS (due to breech) and am terrified of uterine rupture as my due date is under a year after my last CS so I had the choice of a ELCS or a VBAC... If there was longer in between, I'd be going for a VBAC but that's not the case. It's great to have the option and it's YOUR choice and I fully understand why you'd want this option. I may choose ELCS for the reason I don't want a long labour or to rupture and end up in an uncontrolled EMCS. So I understand on that part.
Just know that it is a safe way to deliver baby and actually a calming experience. After what you endured last time, it's the least you and OH deserve!
