Fermera first try

Hi everyone! I'm starting my first cycle with Fermera + trigger shot.

I'm deluding myself hoping that it'll not only work on the first try, but that I'll be one of the 6% that gets twins I know, ridiculous but I need something to keep me going!! ;-)

I'd love to hear anyone else's experience with this.

Side effects? do you still get EWCM with the trigger shot? should you only have sex after the trigger or should you do some before too? did this really work for anyone on the first try (I already ovulate naturally, so that's why I'm hesitant to think this will help very much).

Hello and good luck on the Femera

This is my third month on Femera starting it tonight. The last two months I only ended up with one of follicle that was mature so I wouldn't worry too much about twins.

For side effects I didn't see any changes to my cervical fluid, and I did not have any bad side effects with my lining either. I will say by the time I was done taking the pills my emotions were significantly heightened and I noticed that I was having some mood swings. So be careful what you end up picking a fight over because it will probably not be worth it. The only bad thing that I can say is that I did have a few headaches which is very rare for me. Wish you luck hope you get it the first time around!

On 2nd month. No trigger till next month though. No side effects. Ewcm fine! On clomid dried me up. Horrible side effects. Emotional. Cramping. Was happy to find femera!

Does anyone know if it is ok to take current medications/supplements with Fermera? My doctor hasn't gotten back to me on this.

I would think it would depend on the medication however regarding the supplements I was told to stay on all the prenatals an extra vitamins that I am taking currently.

Makes sense- thanks for the response. my dr did just get back to me and said they should be fine. Are you doing a fermera cycle right now too? If so, I hope it's a lucky one for you!!

Well, I started taking it last night and I am having mood swings.. at least I'm assuming that's why I've been crying all day for zero reason! I do not think I could do 2 cycles of this. hope it works. But, I'm skeptical since I already ovulate. Has anyone else has success with fermera for unexplained dx?

Don't worry about crying. I really found the idea that we had come to this point in our journey overwhelming and cried for a whole day when it hit me. That was before I had even taken the Femara so I can't even blame the hormones!
Just relax and try to get through it as best as possible.
How much Femera are you on? I am doing my second round of 7.5mg and really noticed a difference from the first month at 5mg.

I'm only on 2.5 mg actually! I've always been super sensitive to all meds though. I do ovulate on my own (unexplained dx) so maybe that's why it's so low. I hope it works too, for both of us I'm excited to do my ultrasound next week to see the follicles.

I am also considered unexplained and do ovulate with full sized follicles, albeit later in my cycle. On day 17-20. I am taking it to see if we can get multiple follicles matured earlier in the cycle. So far we have succeeded in earlier, but not multiple follicles.

I see- makes sense. That's great it's helped get your ovulation earlier! Hopefully that is the key�� you will schedule an iui w it this cycle?

I'm on day 4 of 5 taking Fermera. Wow, headaches! Looking forward to being done with this part and checking out what's going on in there with the ultrasound��!

For some reason I'm scared there will be too many eggs or too developed and they will want me to skip the trigger and wait until next month. We've already decided that next month will be a 'month off' so I'm hoping it goes smoothly and we at least get useful information from the ultrasound if not this ever elusive baby!

I was on day 9 yesterday and already have a 20mm follicle! Going in today to see hoe it is doing.
When I was on a lower dose I really didn't see too much of an impact on the speed of the follicles developing. Hopefully yours will be coming along great now. Keep me posted!

I just triggered tonight. Follicle was 22mm cd10. This just shows if the Lowe dose doesn't give them the sizes they are looking for you can increase the dose. I had little side effects this month, not even a headache.

They look at your follicle size, Uteral lining, as well as blood work. Once they see the sizes and my hormones naturally increasing they trigger me with Ovedril and that will make sure that ovulation is timed correctly with the IUI.

Just wanted to send some positive vibes to you girls!

I've done 3 cycles of femara, Ovidrel +TI. Femara had only given me mild mood swings on cd 5 and 6. Other than that I felt great. The Ovidrel on the other hand was super nauseating the first time. The other time it was more mild and only lasted about an hour on and off.
I ovulate on my own but have Unexplained Infertilty The femara did help with egg quality. The first time i had 3 mature follies and 1 smaller one. The following month i had 2 or 3. Ranging bw 16mm to 19mm.

We took a month off (this cycle) from any meds and are doing O' natural one last time. I'm only 5dpo today and if this cycle doesnt work (not too hopeful after TTC almost 2years) we're going to try IUI next month.

What do you mean by improve egg quality? Is that measured by the size or amount? I'm curious because I've heard this with fermera but wasn't sure exactly what improving the egg quality means. Whatever it is, I hope it does it for me!!

I go for my ultrasound on Sunday to see what's up. Hoping for some good information.

Best wishes to you this month! When will you test? It's good you at least have a plan for moving forward just in case (that always makes it easier for me).

The US measures amount of follies and their size. I like knowing bc there's always a chance of multipes.
I'll be testing on the 30th and just trying to get through this next week a little faster.. feels like is dragging

The dreaded wait!�� it'll be here quickly though! It's amazing how slow time seems to move during the 2ww!

Here's one other question- what happens if you ovulate before your US? I usually ovulate on day 14 but I'm wondering if the Fermera will make me ovulate early because it's only day 10 but I'm feeling signs of ovulation. Would it be a waste of money to do the US then? I bought my trigger shot so I'm hoping I don't ovulate before Sunday��
Hopefully we both get twins???? Or at least 1��

With the femara and trigger my RE already knew my cycle. I ovulate on my own bw CD 13 and 16. So the first US i was going on a road trip and we did the US cd 11. Since my follies were still too small she had me trigger like days later when I was actually on vaca. ... so that was fun....."don't mind me, I'll just be here in the back of a car just shooting up" lol

The second trigger i think was a day off and the 3rd i had a 20mm so i triggered that night.

So basically you shouldn't O earlier unless for some reason your US is to confirm you've Od.
