So I received a call this morning from my fertility clinic, and while I was on the waitlist for Government funded IVF in 2018, I am now eligible to start it on my next cycle (upcoming) OR in April. Considering the medications them selves can cost up to $7000 (even with government funding) this will be my last resort.

I have been reading alot of good reviews on fertilaid, but am wondering if it is mostly helpful to people who have diagnosed problems, such as annovulation, pcos, irregular periods etc. I have undiagnosed infertility, and as such the nurse recommended that we try IUI or IVF and that the results should be successful as there really is no concern about my husbands 97% abnormal sperm. She said the problem could be with the process of fertilization or implantation, fertilization being non problematic when using IVF as they do it for you.

As such, I am debating IUI, but am wondering if the Hubs and I should hope to concieve using FertilAid first.

It was a lot of information to process, and to be told that it is likely an undetected problem.. well now I am a little confused on what I should do. Of course, his sperm quality could be impeding natural conception... I don't know.

Deciding when to start treatment is so tough, especially if you're unexplained. We're in a similar place, deciding what to do next. I had a uterine polyp removed and DH had low-normal sperm count and low morph, but that's really all they found. We are also on the wait list for gov funded ivf, will do a few months natural and then medicated IUI while we wait.

My husband also has only 3% normal morphology, and we did conceive once, so it's not impossible! He's been taking FertilPro which is similar to FertilAid. Getting in the best possible health for both of you, including taking fertility supplements, can't hurt and some people swear by it. I take a prenatal, methylated folate, ubiquinol (active CoQ10 for egg quality) and we both take vit D and omega 3. Vitamin D is really important for fertility. If you have a regular cycle and are ovulating, stay away from vitex, it could mess you up.

Medicated IUI can be a good option for sperm count and motility issues, not sure about morphology. If you do decide to go ahead with the IVF, ask about ICSI, where they get around fertilization problems by injecting the sperm right into the egg. It likely costs extra but it's recommended if morphology is an issue.

Good luck with everything! I hope you get a surprise BFP while deciding where to go from here!
