I read something that suggested that women could be very fertile after a MC?
Does anyone know if this is true and if so when?

I am a week after a natural MC and am still bleeding but want to try again ASAP.

:hug::hug:

it is true hun, (sry for ur loss) when i mmc tho it took us 6mth to conceive again, but many fall pg the mth after......however ive a mate who fell straight away and also mc that one aswell, she waited 3mth and now has a son, goodluck xx

Yup it's very true.
We had been ttc for 2 years then finally got pg which ended in a m/c at 6 weeks. I ovulated exactly 2 weeks after I passed my final clot (TMI) and got my bfp 2 weeks after that. I think if you have an early m/c with no d&c needed then it's ok to get pg straight away, but if you had a later m/c that required hospital intervention, then it is best to wait 2 months so the womb lining can build up again (or so I have read).
Good luck ttc !!!

It is true hon.I got pregnant about 2 weeks after MC.I think thats when people tend to be most fertile but not 100% sure.
Good luck  xxx

it does seem to be that way for some people, although it didnt work for me as it took me 4months after m/c to get a bfp,am hoping it will work this time though!
sorry you are going through this and hope you get your sticky bean soon
xx
ps at the hospital they said we must wait for bleeding to stop or there is an increased risk of infection

I didnt have a D&C. The bleeding is still there a bit but its only been a week. I will try opk testing today though. I feel that this is very positive news as I feel I have a focus again!
I couldnt bear to log in to B&B until today, and by chance I read something about fertility. The posts here have really given me a boost today! Thanks.XXXXXXXXXXXX

From reading around on here and the rest of the web it does seem like for quite a few people their fertility is at a peak just after their MC

At the hospital i was told to wait for once cycle before TTC again (although i know in reality this is likely just because it then makes it easier to date a subsequent pregnancy knowing when your LMP was). I have also read that their is a slightly increased risk of further MC immediately after miscarrying. It seems that the advice is soooo conflicting!

I have a leaflet from the miscarriage association though which says that for most women there is no harm in TTC and falling pregnant right away.

In the end it's just about what is right for you and your OH.

Hope you get your sticky bean soon.

goodluck hun, i never mentioned,it took me a long time to fall pg in the first place, and then to mc was just devastating, but if u didnt really have a problem getting pg then they chances are u will fall again ...... look into the future hun,i mmc in march last yr and im now 20wk on thurs !
we knew we wanted to try n conceive as soon as we cud, after a good cry and talk we were stonger and more positive than ever !!
:hugs:

Sorry to hear of your loss Mazza, and those of the other girls - but it's great to read about the happy outcomes of subsequent ttc!!

I have also heard that you are more fertile right after m/c, because your hormones have been given a bit of a kick by the pregnancy - but this can also mean that your cycle gets thrown out of kilter, so if you were lucky enough to have regular-as-clockwork cycles and know when you ovulate before your m/c, timing can be a bit trickier for a couple of months afterwards.

Mazza I am in the same boat as you, natural m/c began 5 days ago and seems just about finished now. My gp said that as it was a very early one, it was fine to try again straight away as soon as bleeding stops, and it shouldn't have any negative impact on the next pregnancy - but agree with Rebaby that the advice can be conflicting!

We conceived in our first month of trying, which was a surprise to say the least - so hope it won't take too long a second time, but I can imagine how hard it must be if you have been trying for a long time.

As for OPKs, I also read that these can be misleading in your first month after m/c, before your next AF, because of hormones going wild. But then again I have read posts on here from people who got pregnant straight after m/c by using OPKs! So who knows...?! It's so frustrating !! especially if you're a control freak like me....

good luck to all! xxxx

I conceived first month of trying too! I take this as a huge positive and can only imagine how awful it would have been had i been trying for ages. I also feel very blessed that the MC happened at 6 weeks rather than later. I only knew I was pregnant for one hour before I miscarried! So lots of positives topped off by the great news that fertility could be ok so soon makes me feel lucky.
I really appreciate the support here and everyones positive advice! XX

it just depends hunni

your body will only conceive again when it is ready  so although some ladies get preg again very quickly it is approaching a year since I lost my little girl & im not pregnant yet :( xx

Wow. Thank you everyone. I had mc on 16th of this month, at 6 wks and have been scared and felt almost guilty about ttc straight away, but if I am naturally more fertile after mc then surely nature is telling me that its ok to ttc?! I am trying to go with the whole 'everything happens for a reason' mentality. All of your posts have cheered me up. Thanks again.

thank you everyone this has given me so much hope. I had an erpc on 5th of this month and bled for about 4/5 days. Started ttc pretty much after that. The thing that is worrying me is that since the erpc i have been doing preg test and opks which have all been bfp!! Does anyone know how long it will take for all these hormones to settle down as i just want the bfn and af to come so i can ttc again. Thank you xx

I was going to ask the same question! I have never had such strong OPKs ever! and thats a week on. I might see the GP if the HPT are still positive on friday, unless anyone thinks that this is normal? Thanks for raising that. XX
