fertility clinic - clomid and ivf advice please

Hi there- Ive been to the fertility clinic this week. So far we've got unexplained infertility - Hubby's sa tests were fine (low morphology but nothing to worry too much about).

My bloods came back fine showing ovulation and hormones fine.

They said the next thing to do is to go for a hsg (which I'm not looking forward to). If all is clear they suggested trying clomid next - I'm a bit confused about this as if I'm ovulating (which I also confirm be temping) what's the point of taking clomid?

Can anyone help clarify?

Other than that they just suggested ivf. Can anyone recommend anything that can be done before ivf that they haven't already done? We don't want to go down that route just yet if possible...

Yes! Hsg is good start! It will go by fast and worth it. Clomid can give you more follicles (eggs) so better chance to get pregnant. Could try a hgc trigger shot to make sure eggs release. Guess you can ovulate but eggs don't release. Could do iui incase your mucus pH level is killing sperm. Or clomid drys up mucus too. (Could use preseed) all of those are cheaper and less invasive then ivf! If in a hurry age wise ivf is best success. I also have unexplained infertilty. Going on second iui. So far no help but I am just turned 27 so taking my time to get to ivf because for me it's at least 10,000 dollars

Hey thanks for your reply waiting. Those are good suggestions. I didn't know you could ovulate but no eggs released so clomid would be a good idea. Doc didn't suggest iui so may ask about that one next time I go. Good luck for your iui cycle
