Hi all,

Ive had two miscvarriages in the last year, one at 5 weeks and one ay 6 weeks which was discovered at a scan at 9 weeks.

My doctor offered to do some routine blood tests for me and ive just had the results. Apparently with my hormones my FSH is high compared to my LH (9.7 and 5.7)...is this really bad??? The doctor said not to panic but I am completely freaking out?? Does this mean I have poor quality eggs or not enough of them??

Could it be a blip? I had the tests done 5 weeks after my ERPC for miscarriage and also apparently I had the test last september and the levels seemed ok so Im wondering if it could just be a one off.

I am being referred to the fertility team at my local hospital, a positive step but also really scary so feeling really down again today.

Has anyone else had similar tests or results?? Need some good stories to cheer me up!!

I'm sure FSH can fluctuate from cycle to cycle and I don't think it's about egg quality but more about the liklihood of ovulating, something about your body having to produce more FSH to help you ovulate.

I wouldn't say 9.7 is too high though, I think mine was 9.

I'm not sure which test it is that clarifies egg quality, if there even is one.

I don't think the FSH levels would in anyway contribute to the miscarriages :hugs:

I know it is scary to get referred but the fertility doctors have so much more information available for you. There are so many things that are really simple to treat so I hope if they do find something it will be a simple fix and can put your mind at ease.

So sorry for your losses. I have been in your shoes. I have a wonderful doctor who has started trying some simple things to help us - now we just need to get pregnant again so we can see if they work.
