Fertility programme

what's it called? I'm going to watch it on iplayer tomorrow :)

Having just had our first (failed) IVF I found it difficult to watch at times however I felt it was well done and importantly (for me) showed a realistic number of pregnancies from the number of couples followed. It would be great to see more documentaries like this tackling infertility issues.

sorry your first IVF failed pinkie :hugs: when is number 2? is it on the NHS? sorry for being nosy :flower:

i'm really looking forward to watching the programme today!

Thanks :flower: Our PCT only allow one fresh cycle and as we didnt get any for the freezer we are now pay as you go. Hoping to get started March/April.

Where are you up to treatment wise?

x

not too long to wait then, if 2013 goes as fast as 2012 did! :) that's rubbish that they only do one fresh cycle, I think it should be the same for everyone no matter where you live :(

I've still got three femara cycles to do (already had three), just working up the courage :haha: i don't know if i have it in me to do them to be honest, i am too happy at the moment and don't want the crushing disappointment of another failed medicated cycle to take that away from me! :laugh2: i'll probably start again in march if i feel up to it.

and waiting for ICSI in 2014 :)

It was a very good documentary. Worth watching. Im going to watch it again today with hubby. Just upsetting when u can relate xxx

I got upset while watching it for the same reason, i coukd relate :( have our 1st appt at the clinc today x

oh my god crying already

the guy in charge of the clinic seems amazing doesn't he? i really like him so far!

Was fab. Was at the hewit centre too where me and OH have been going, they had leaflets last summer asking people to take part in it. We were recently discharged with unexplained infertility :( but will be returning if we have IVF. I was shocked that only one couple were successful. I'm interested in becoming an embryologist too so I really enjoyed the programme, learnt a lot x

aww sarahlou you just gave the ending away for me

the clinic looks good! and the staff look so friendly :)

embryologist would be an amazing job, do you already work in healthcare?

Ahh shit sorry Foquita. I won't tell you which couple. I'm currently doing a degree in Health Science :) looked into embryology a while back ironically :-/ fascinating. And how rewarding would that be! But a hell of a lot of responsibility x

Head of clinic Dr Kingsland he was my gynaecologist but I am yet to meet him lol! All his staff are amazing though :)

it's ok, i'm watching it now and trying to guess who it is :haha:

crying again  i'm really loving this programme, i hope my OH will watch it later!

that's great, how do you get into embryology after you've finished your degree? :)

I cried a few times! My OH was glued to it haha he may surprise you! Yeah you just need a degree in science and then you train as an embryologist for 3 years, can imagine its hard to get a place on the training thing though x
