I've been a post a holic on this site, since I started my 2ww last week :coffee: reading posts, posting posts, wondering if I'm pregnant like most of us on here!

I was wondering....., were all here in the 2ww wondering if our little beanies will stick, knowing we have done all we can :sex:

How do we know that our little eggs definitely got fertilized? is it because 9 out of 10 times if you do it at the right time, the:spermy: will almost definitely fertilize our eggs???

Those upsetting statistics you read about that only give us a 25% chance of conceiving each month? is that due to the fact that not all our beanies will stick? as apposed to our eggs being fertilized?

Does that make sense? Can I rest assured that :spermy: got to my egg, its just if it implants that I should be worrying about? ??

hi, yea i dont get that bit if we do it at right time, why do we only have 25% or less as we get older x

Surely, if we do it at the right time, I mean and we actually confirm ovulation - then we can be safe to say that our Eggs are pretty much going to be fertilized? and the only reason we wait and wonder in the 2ww is because

1. Were hoping and praying of course that our eggs implants
2. We know and look our for Symptoms that were otherwise told wont arise until Implantation which is what were all desperate for .....

Makes you wonder if there's ever a chance that eggie wasnt ever fertilized in the first place? its not something that I usually let cross my mind???

I try my best not to get into the technical side of it (because my little brain cant cope and I'd over analyse everything!!
There are lots of what if's, whys, etc.

IF af turns up i'd rather think that the eggy never met the sperm than it just not implanting . . . it's far too close for me :(

Yea I guess your right, I suppose I'm just trying to find out, because I;m in the 2ww! if there is a lovely high probability that your Egg would of been fertilized as long as you were getting close enough when dtd.
After that you can only let mother nature do her thing cant you? Its just I swear my egg was fertilized last month too, but because of my short luteal phase, I spotted from about 9dpo really heavy brown then had a really havy clotty af (sorry tmi) which I can only assume was my little egg shedding, this month I'm on B6 which I am super duper hoping has given me enough progestetrone and a thick enough lining that my gertilized egg can hang on and turn into another beautiful baby.

Maybe I go waaaaaay too deep! I need to chill out and stop thinking!

But I have daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayz before I can test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xxx

I know !!!!!!!! I'm living in the land that time forgot!!!

I'm on prenatal vitamins and prenatal oils capsules so i'm hoping they're giving me everything i need!!!

I'm sure they will! here's hoping for all of us! x

Hey ladies.

I understand the confusion and I read that even if all the conditions are 100% for fertilization, you still only have about 20 - 25 % chance each cycle of getting pregnant (irrespective of whether its due to fertilization of the egg not happening or perhaps implantation issues).

However, with regards to fertilization off the egg happening every time, I found this interesting e-book online. I couldn't retype it and just wanted to show you guys this one page that actually describes the whole process in easy to understand terms.

Here is the link - Link

Read from the 3rd paragraph that starts with "In order to understand why pregnancy does not always occur...:
