So during last nights emergency ultra sound the tech turned Doppler on for a second during the external us and not during internal because she couldn't clearly detect it. She had the gliding thing no where near my uterus or even pushing firmly and recorded the heart rate as 77. Doctors there said that was my heartbeat and the hemorrhage clouded the Doppler. Well on the paper work sent to my doctor it says the fetal heart rate is 77 but may be maternal. Well my doctor seems more convinced it's the babies and was super negative and said that the eart rate tells him it will likely lead to miscarriage. It's not the babies mine was 77 on all my vitals! I told him I refuse to not think positive as I know the baby is going to be fine. He's repeating my bloodwork tomorrow and ultrasound on Monday. Why does he have to be so negative???? The stupid tech never should have written the fetal heart beat was 77.

77 is a low heart rate but I think it would be a very strange coincidence if the baby's heart rate exactly matched your own. I hope you get more answers soon.

For myself, I'd rather have a doctor be brutally honest then just brush me off and say "you're fine". But I do like them to be a little sensitive about it and at least pretend to be sad.

The tech even told me that wasn't the fetal heart beat she recorded it was mine. I can't wait for the scan Monday to show him the baby's heart beat is fine. I know the reality of the situation and I know the odds are actually in my favor. I wish my ER doctor was my regular OB. He was honest yet sympathetic and even spoke with is as we waited for the valet and his shift was over.

What a ridiculous situation! I'm sorry you're having to experience this :(

I look forward to your next scan on Monday too when you can see and show them that everything is fine xx

What a couple jerks! My first ob for my mmc was evil and heartless like that, too, so I switched to a much better doc from the same practice.

I'm glad to hear that you're choosing to listen to what that doctor and tech at the scan said about 77 being your own heart rate. There is no reason to drive yourself crazy over that one. Hoping for the best for you with your repeat blood work and scan!

Thanks gals... The ultrasound tech really botched that report up and she canceled my scan when the doctor first ordered one stat because she thought I should have bloodwork first. The HEAD ER doc went there and chewed her out directly and let her know when he sends a patient for a emergency scan she is to take the order and complete. He is the doctor she is the imaging tech, her job title doesn't give her the power to make those decisions. So she was messing crap up from the beginning. I tried stifling my tears through the whole scan but they just filled my ears and I knew by her tone and actions something was wrong.

That's crazy. I can't wait for you to have your scan on Monday and prove that doc wrong!!!

I normally love my doctor but when any doctor reads a result they are likely to believe the paper than the person so it will be a relief to show him the heart beat is fine. I should only be focused and concerned on the hemorrhage. I will know tomorrow if my hcg of 21,800 doubles today

Ah, ok. I thought it was the same doctor who was saying you were most likely going to lose. That is frustrating.

I overall had liked the first OB I had for my son's pregnancy but when I had complications he would just shrug and say 'it would be sad if something happened..." and it was said in such an "oh well" sort of way. It irritated me to no end. I was later overseen by a high risk specialist and he was much kinder and far more optimistic even in spite of all my problems. He also had concrete steps of action to take should things turn for the worse.

I hope you get good news on monday.:hugs:
