I know what you mean, my maid of honour has a really irish name that is a popular name there but having it over here she doesn't like it...I agree with liking the Ffion name and think it is good to look at names from your own heritage...have you tried middle names starting with a, Ffion Alisha ...

we had a middle name beginning with A that was really nice and we both loved but then her initials would be FAJ... not very nice

we really wanted Ffion Angharad Jones which is lovely but with those initials i just couldnt name our daughter that! ive been desperatly looking for middle names, i like Cerys but again it doesnt sound right!

thanks hun.. Rhys was never this complicated, he was always John-Rhys Jones, it sounded good and felt right. This little moo is being fussy already god help me lol!!!!!

I think Cerys sounds good, and people will say just Ffion Jones in most cases...

thats fine i wanted honest opinions, im really worried that people who arent welsh might think its a really weird name. in Wales it is a traditional name and one thats been used for centuries. i just dont want my daughter to move out of Wales when shes older and have everybody think she has a weird name!

I don't like it either babe, but I am not welsh and sorry, but alot of welsh names sound weird to me. But it is not what other people like or think that counts, it is about you! Call him Scotch mist if you want, it is nothing to do with other people! We had to think carefully with picking a name because of Paul's surname, so when I came up wth Alfie, Paul really wasn't keen, but it didn't sound funny and I had my heart set on it and knew I would win, and I didn't care if others didn't like it tbh, although a bonus if they do! x
