Finally Got Child Support Going...

Well, my ex of 2 years took off when I was 9 weeks with no explanation. Just said he'd call me tomorrow and never again contacted or would respond to me. So I had my daughter 2 weeks ago and finally sent out the stuff Child Support needed to go find him...

Does anyone have any experience with Child Support?

I'm just ready to get that a** hole...my daughter deserves more support than I can give her, so extra money to put towards her and in her bank account would be useful.

Gah, I really hate men, and the fact that me having a kid scares them away. Good riddance!

Following this thread. I also have an a**hole ex-boyfriend who took off when I was about 13 weeks pregnant, and believes he wont have to pay a penny towards his son. Good luck with the child support, you and your daughter definitely deserve it!

The state should be able to find him and start a child support order. I think the standard for one child is 17% of his gross (before tax) income. They will take it right out of his paycheck, so there's no way he can't pay. And if he doesn't have a job, they will send him paperwork for him to apply for a certain number of jobs every week. If he doesn't do the paperwork and stuff, he faces going to court and possibly jail.

It may be different in different states. My experience is all in Wisconsin. But if you look at your states website, they may have some extra information.

Yeah that's what I thought...I was worried something happened to him.
Nope, he's fine. He actually was telling his friends that it's not his kid anyway and blah blah blah...so now, the jackass is perfectly fine

Eurgh, I hate that guys feel the need to use that excuse, simply to make themselves feel better about being a complete jerk!
