Finally got my bfp today which means am 4-5 weeks pregnant. Been cramping loads today but dnt know if it's all in my head. Is this normal? Xx

congratulations :)
i had bad cramping at about week 5, felt like really bad period pains but MW said it was totally normal, just the uterus stretching. as long as its not accompanied by bleeding its nothing to worry about. xx

Thank you so much, makes me feel tons better. Congratulations on ur bfp xx

I got my BFP on Thursday but have been cramping since last Monday. I'm 5 weeks pregnant today. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said that the cramping was normal.

Congratulations!

Cramps are normal, I get them from time to time too. As long as there is no bleeding then all should be fine :flower:

Thank you all for your replies, eases my mind. Congrats to you all and h&h 9months xx

I am 12 weeks and have had cramping off and on the entire time. It always makes me a little nervous when I have them, but I have found if I take it easy and relax a little they become less. Normally when I am super active I will have them more often. So, if you are working or doing something and start having them just sit down for a few minutes to see if that might help. Sometimes it helps more than others. :)

Don't worry. It's totally normal. I had a lot of cramping in weeks four and five. I still have them occasionally, but not as often and they usually aren't as intense. My doctor said not to worry about it. :)

My midwife told me that it's the ligaments in your tummy and the uterus stretching as it gets bigger and can feel like mild period cramps and then it goes away. If it's persistent and the pain gets sharper and much stronger then contact your midwife, it will probably be okay though (as others have said) as long as you don't have bleeding with it. I had lots of cramping in the beginning (4-5 weeks) and I was panicked as some of it was in my side but that went away thankfully and now I get a few mild twinges every other day and also at the end of each week - which I guess is the next stage of the uterus expanding.

I still get them; they are a sign that my uterus is expanding. As long as they are not severe nor accompanied by bleeding, things should be okay.
