I'm a little late as he was born five days ago but I thought I'd get it all down in writing now before I forget.

So on the Wednesday 10th June at about 10/11pm I rushed to the hospital convinced my baby had died (those that don't know I've had sixteen miscarriages and a stillbirth at 24+3 recurrently over the last seven years and a year previous to that I had a stillbirth at 36+6), it took a while but a good trace meant to go home and come back every day. I did and each day the trace wouldn't be satisfactory for a few hours so we'd get a scan and everything would be fine after that.

On Sunday 14th they admitted me due to reduced feral movements, being 36 weeks and having contractions every two minutes and they checked, I was 3cm. Any way the Tuesday during the day/night baby's heart rate was quite low with decels, so they decide to bring forward my induction. If I hadn't kicked up a fuss we wouldn't of been in hospital when the low heart rate started.

Wednesday 17th 5.30am, they try to break my waters for a good twenty minutes, it fails, they won't try any other way as I a VBAC. 7.30am they try again to break my waters, it took twenty minutes but they finally managed. My contraction start increasing but the pains are more like spasms in my back.

We get to 10.15am and the contractions aren't as regular as they'd like so they put up the drip. They start it off very slowly and pretty soon I'm contracting three in ten. I couldn't get up off the bed as I needed constant monitoring both due to the vbac and because over fifty percent of my contractions had declarations.

2.15pm they do an internal and tell me I'm still at 2cm. The doctor tells me it will be at least seven hours more. I cried a lot at this point. Over the next hour the pressure I start to get is intense, he feels very low and I'm starting to grunt. The mw's say it sounds like I'm ready, I tell them I'm not, that I'm still 2cm but they didn't believe me.

3.15pm they check again and again I'm 2cm but the new mw realises she can stretch it to whatever she wants :haha:

So she gets me up off the bed (by now the drip is on 60, the highest allowed) and makes me do some squats. They were amazed at my squaring. I think to myself that I can still do this because they keep applying pressure about an epidural (apparently no one does the drip at 60 with no pain killers). Then I lean on a yoga Matt and beanbag but we have a massive decel so they quickly get me on the bed.

The contractions were thick and fast now, but they're different in that it's all low and in my cervix. I kept visualising the pain leaving my body out through my cervix. Sounds weird but it worked. As they got me back on to the bed they ripped out my cannula. So the coordinator comes and starts attempting to put it in again (ten attempts in total) even though I kept requesting she didn't and o was baring down.

I begin to push and with the first one his head was out, the second and he was out completely. They placed him on my chest and told me to look to see if we had a girl or boy. I cried as I said a boy and he's alive

The paed came and did a check because he was a little early and because of my history. He was fine though, he didn't cry until he had his vitamin k injection. My hubby cut the cord.

He was born at 4.02pm so just 47 minutes since we were told I was 2cm :haha:

He was weighing 6lb 1, which is great for gestation.

We named him Ori.on Ru.di Be.au

Without the full stops but I'm not wanting to write his name properly atm since it all went a bit manic here. I wrote a post on the count the kicks Facebook page which went a bit viral, just coming up to 30k likes now. That led to the mirror stealing photos from my Facebook and writing a story without permission, last I look there was over 66k likes. I then did an actual article with the daily mail (I know) and that was in the papers today.

The papers add to the surreal feeling, I really didn't think we could ever be so lucky after so many loses but here we are, our own little man who we took home 24 hours after he was born <3
